Chaps, Whilst the resignations of John Mclelland and John Greig, two loyal servants to Rangers FC over the years, comes as a surprise to many of us, let us not forget that the current financial situation happened on their watch- when they were on the board and part of the decision-making machine. If it were anyone but a great Rangers player involved we wouldnt be shedding any tears. The business model that Rangers was being run on couldn't afford any directorial pasengers, club ambassadors yes, but directors no. It needed men of proper business sense who had the courage to face up to us fans and tell us the implications of spending beyond our means. People who had proper commercial experience who know how what it takes for sustainable business models. Despite all the trophies that we won under the previous regime, the model wasn't sustainable and this current situation was always going to happen. Proper businessmen with the club at heart would and could have prevented this. Murray Park for bringing through the youth, don't make me laugh. Yes there's been a few came through but there should have been more based on what we have been told about how good Murray Park is. You only have to look down through the youth age groups to see we still aren't running away with things even at that level. Why is that? Are we teaching the lads the right things? Absolutely not. I for one am not prepared to submit to all this propaganda from the press designed to be sensationalist and arouse the sympathy vote in us. If people want to leave the club, create bad-publicity and freeze assests when we need the money, then good riddance to them. Thanks for the past but now move on. Its time to dig in, roll our sleeves up and bring back the dignity to our club. The world is laughing at us. Let's give this guy Whyte a chance. He's put money up to buy the club and all the crap surrounding it and the tax bills. Any one prepared to do that gets my vote. Having said that, if he messes it up then I'm sure we'll learn from that also, but lets give him a chance.
