  1. Not so sure about Nacho. I never really rated him to be honest. He was fast though, and left it all out there on the pitch, which sometimes was exactly what we needed to get the crowd going and raise spirits. Personally i think we have better players now however, and I suspect Novo has probably slowed down a fair bit since leaving (considering he had already slowed towards the end of his time with us). Boyd on the other hand id have him back in a heart beat. He is, and always has been very underrate for his footballing ability. He has very good technique and link-up play, something for which he never seems to get credited for. Id fancy Boydy to get on the end of a long ball or win a flick on more than i'd fancy Lafferty, even though the UG is about a foot bigger. Not to mention Boydy averages a goal a game against SPL opposotion (with the exception of Celtic). Thats exactly what we need, we should be burying every other team in the SPL by 3 or 4 goals. But right now, these teams are keeping it tight at the back and making chances at the other end when they fustrate us. I'd fancy us to win these games much easier and much more convingly with a predator like Boyd poaching the goals like he does best. Not to mention he is only 28. The only issue Boyd has ever had seems to be his attitude, perhaps if he has had a slice of humble pie since leaving with his career goign from bad to worse, then perhaps he can come back and recapture his very best goalscoring form.
  2. the positive is that they are pretty guff aswell. we thumped them 4-2 in the first OF, and it was a proper hiding. Our form has went out the window completely as we have fallen apart, whilst Celtic are playing as good as they can with 9 straight wins... yet the only difference between the teams was a goal from a corner & a goal that never was. truth be told though, cletic can pass the ball, we can't. Can we win another title with this long ball, punt it up the pitch bullshit? I dont think so, we need footballers in the midfield. We have a better GK, better quality defenders, and better attacking players in Lafferty/Naisy/Jela in comparison to hooper samaras & stokes. Thye can pass, and press, and retain possession however, with guys like kayal & ledley in the middle, Davis & McCulloch can't compete.
  3. ofcourse it isnt, the strikers need service. the porblem is we cant play football. im fuckin sick of this long ball bullshit. a typical rangers sequence of play is getting chased bckwards. we cant pass worth a fuck and the ball constantly goes back to mgregor, then hoofed 60 yards up the pitch.
  4. the fact healy is on the wage bill is laughable. he offers nothing, nothing at all. i dont even think hes a good finisher. he was presented with a 1-on-1 to keep us in europe this season, last minute, from 10 yards and fluffed it. i wouldnt mind having a micheal owen type guy who comes off the bench, gives the game some energy and nicks the goals, like nacho did for us, but healy is useless. show him the door, not good enough for the SPL nevermind rangers.
  5. what a fickle post. hes the best player in the SPL bar none. He'd run amock in the prem with the quality players hed have around him. cant blame the striker when we play like a pub team. Yet another punt-it-up-the-fuckin-pitch-athon from the gers tonight. Cant pass worth a shit. and steve davis is never a captain.
  6. McGregor needs to gro a brain. we were battered in that 2nd half for the alst 15 minutes. With seconds to go till HT, he throws the ball out to Jelavic, in our half, on the by-line, with 3 St. Midden players closer than any team mates... Just hold it up till veryone gets out then relieve the pressure. but surprise surprise the ball comes right back and were 2-1 down instead of 1-1 at HT. Seriously, if you can teach common sense, they should run classes at Murray Park.
  7. taking those water marks out would be almost impossible. it would require painting over the water marks. for example, where the watermakr goes over the grass - you would have to paint over it with a grass like texture. you would have to be a modern day van gogh to di this job without compeltely botching the image. if you really want it, drop him an email - i can't imagine he would charge that much for a download of the photo at a resoltuion of about 3000 pixels.
  8. billy boys - generated the best atmosphere without doubt. The ones that stick our for me were the game in the CL against inter milan in 2005 (1-1). TBB being sung before the players came out the tunnel was deafening. i also went to ibrox to watch the UEFA cup final on the big screen, waiting outside no-one knew wtf was going on and how many would be allowed in, but TBB broke out and there was some noise at the entrance gates. kinda sad it doesnt get belted out in the stands of ibrox anymore but i think the song has run its course. I think as a club it's best if we keep the song book clean going forward now (personally can't stand build my gallows & calling county down as 'home'). Penny Arcade & 4 men had a dream are excellent sing-songs that generate excellent atmosphere without catching negative headlines & UEFA sanctions.
  9. "not so long ago" what do you consider to be "not so long ago" ? 25+ years?
  10. 2005 was a disaster. i never thought we'd see the day we'd finish 3rd. be hilarious though if the tims finish up 3rd this season.
  11. I only use Rangers when i play ranked H2H season in FIFA 12 (ps3). after about 80 games i got promoted to division 1 and won it (you need to get 20 points), i also won the premier cup with the gers on my 2nd bash at it. so i reckon my line-up is spot on i play a custom 4-3-3 (the midfield isnt deep enough in the default one): ---------------------mcgregor---------------------- -------------bocanegra-------goian---------------- whittaker---------------------------------wallace- ---------------------mcculloch-------------------- --------------edu--------------------------------- ---------------------------davis------------------ wylde--------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------naismith-------- ------------------jelavic------------------------- love going the gers, well balanced team, Davis & edu play very well in midfield, Wylde is lighting fast (93 srint speed) & naisy/jelly up top.
  12. in todays game every one of those tackles could have been worthy of a red. it's in clips like that you realise how much the games changed.
  13. i'd be happy with that line up. although id prefer to see papc at LB and let wallace play LM as i reckon he has a bit more pace about him getting forward. also, thinking going to the game, not being able to get to ibrox so far this season (run my own business usually have to put the hours in at the weekend). I reckon i should be ok to get a ticket before the game if i can't get a hold of 1 from my mate who usually gets me a tik?
  14. im not entirely sure but Portsmouth, who are a much smaller club than us, had debts of over 126mil - they went into administration, and did look liek they would go into liquidation, but after winning a case against HMRC they managed to get back out of it. they were relegated, but they would have been relegated anyway even without the 10 point deduction.
  15. haha, i need to post which school i went to, to ease suspicions that i might be a tim in disguise? don't worry, i went to a non-dom one, and i'm a thorough breed
  16. good stuff mate but the top one looks like a colgate advert lol
  17. yeah i fully agree, his work rate isnt in question. The only aspect i have with him is his ball control as he consistantly allows the ball to get away from him. WE'll miss him sorely but i think we'll cope fine without him if Lafferty can really find some solid form. If it was Jelavic who was injured i'd be alot more concenred to be honest.
  18. i might get hounded for saying this but personally i think we overrate Naisy. His touch is consistantly too heavy. It often leads to him 'going down easily' as a result. A good example was the 2-2 at ibrox vs celtic last season, if foster hand't given him a little touch he had overran that ball and i doubt he would have scored. then he did the same thing which seen him a 2nd yellow for diving. He actually overran the ball at Aberdeen because once again his touch was poor, personally i think his challenge was born out of his fustration at failing to control the ball, and went in for a stupid challenge as a result. thats not to say i dont think he is an outstanding player - it will be his goalscoring tally we miss most - but im hoping now Lafferty can fill that void. I've always had faith in Lafferty, i can see why we paid what we did for him, he has that raw technical ability to control and strike a ball. I hope Ally gives him a run of 10 or so straight starts with Jelly and lets see if he can cement his place once and for all. As for Naisy I really hope he makes a quicker recoverey than expected - it's not unheard of, didn't Valencia make a much quicker comeback than expected for Man Untied after Broadfoot broke his ankle?
  19. yeah i hate to say it but i agree, i remember way back when Larsson suffered that horrible leg break we had a wee tune about it. It's nothing i think we should be too offended about, let the sheep shaggers sing or cheer what they want, it's all they have to sing or cheer about, when was the last time they won something?
  20. i wasn't implying anything sinister... i visited his site at the time of the documentary as usually he offers a little bit of 'behind the scenes' journalistic insight.
  21. none of us really know - interesting question though, would the 10 points come off right away, or at the start of next season? and if given the choice what would you rather? being stripped 10 points right now wouldnt hurt as much as being -10 next season as we'd still be favourites to win the league, but if we maintain our lead it's going to be a massive boost to actually winning the league, getting the dosh for it & getting that CL place.
  22. anyone know why leggat stopped blogging around the time the BBC documentary surfaced?
  23. thanks mate, lets hope i need to take the time to update that big old honours list come seasons end.
  24. it was cringe worthy. not the phrase itself, but the manner in which he used and why. as if he's a loyal rangers man through and through sittin in his wee american office (abd i think it's pretty obvious this was the point the other poster was making, were you just looking for a mistake to pick up on?). It would be great if Whyte could publish figures relating to how much each of these guys were paid in total for there time at Rangers. He already released than Bain recieved a bonus of £48,000 when we reached the UEFA cup final (the same as the players).
