if it indeed was a done deal, you'd be hearing about it on sky sports news, the offical rangers website, the bbc etc... not on the forum.
if you come on the forum and read a thread like this you have to understand that people are using sources close to whats happening and then passing this info on, if your looking for solid 100% accurate info your in the wrong place, and i reccomend giving the sun & daily record a body swerve aswell.
imo, i think the OPs info was correct at the time, if i were to have a guess, i'd say those involved with TBK bid last night would have been very confident of getting PB today, but when these things are so complexed & fragile, it doesn't come as a surprise theres been a further hold on.
incidently, this time last monday SSN broke that D&P had confirmed that preffered bidder would be released last week, and upon breaking on SSN, i posted it here on the forum. it didn't transpire like that though, 1 week later and we're still waiting. The OP is as guilty as every other news source in the country if thats your attitude.
imo, people coming onto RM to try and get some breaking info on whats happening with the current situation, then moaning when it doesnt' transpire as predicted, is a bit like downloading a movie illegally then moaning when the quality is crap.

disagree, i think when a team like barca spend so much time going sideways and backwards it ruins it for the neutral.
sure you could argue that chelsea could have pushed the back line up higher, but look where that got AVB. When they came up against a fast passing side like Arsenal they conceeded 5 goals.
Barceloan don't play as cautiously as that against lesser La Liga teams, sometime barca just seem terrified of losing possession, so much so they would rather play a safe, 5 yard pass sideways or backwards, then try a riskier through ball in the final 3rd.

im opinion is that it's easier to nullify the threat of messi when you have a team thats on the level of Barcelona and that can defend to the highest level. Even if you love messi, you have to admit that there has been a handful of players that have been successful in man-marking him for the 90. Tactically, it's also possible to choke him for space, he drops deepand finds pockets between the midfield and defence. I've seen alot of teams approach the game with 2 CDM's to choke that space, and usually 2 of them glued to Messi the entire game. I'm sure you would agree that you've seen games where messi has been nullified in this manner?
Ronaldo on the other hand, teams can defend how they like, they can park the bus, play a back 5 and have 2 players man marking him above, but the difference is, he will still possess a threat on the pitch. He can out jump defenders at corners, have a look at his goal in the champions league final against chelsea, stunnign header from about 16 yards out, and also a very similar one last season in the copa del rey final against Barcelona. he also poses a threat from freekicks you can't defend against, he has the ability to score from pretty much anywhere within 45 yards of the goals.
Probably the best way i ever heard someone describe his opinion on the 2 was 'if i had enough money to buy any 3 players, i'd take xavi, iniesta & messi an attempt to emulate the barcelona system. But if only had enough money to buy 1 player, i'd buy ronaldo'.
