  1. Totally agree. He drifted inside a lot, & as another poster said, most trouble came down his side & he didn't get forward all that much. Whittaker's attacking side's been woeful this year (Hertz apart), kirk's lost whatever he had in that sense, we don't need another
  2. Should've been a wee bit better on Monday then - that was closest thing to entertainment since the bheggars game
  3. Is the tax tribunal an open forum? If not, who's leaking to Rtc the nature of thd letterhead on the paperwork?
  4. Ironic that he got hurt chasing a long ball over the top.....
  5. He has previous for this - wondered if it was just a matter of time? Given us some great moments, but why has he only ever scored more than 1 in a league game on 2 occasions in over a year? Overrated? Not motivated? Holding back? Probably as many opinions as there are supporters!
  6. Could've had a hattrick!
  7. He looks like he's sold himself a dummy in the first one!!!
  8. May be forced on us if Laff's out for up to 8 weeks (SSN) & Jela goes.
  9. Which three players are most likely to fail to control a ball on evidence of last month or so? No coincidence we controlled the game in their (enforced??) absences. To misquote Napoleon are we better to have a lucky manager than a brilliant one?
  10. Good points re positions & personnel - I wonder if Bartley's agreement means he has to play when fit - suppose he would be better waing Arsenal's bench or playing in Premiership reserve league than getting stuck on our bench? Overall team effort meant it didn't matter, but on another day the square peg round hole approach may 've been found out. Wallace growing on me at left mid - technically 2 goals in previous 2 games, assist today - more consistent output than Wylde & way more solid tracking back. Aluko, given right direction looks capable of anything - decision making & team awareness streets ahead of Wednesday - hope if keeps improving. Subs a little baffling - Fleck perhaps obvious, but given proposed move, maybe not? Did really well & looked sharper than receding cameos. McMillan - would've preferred to see him at RB but see comment re Bartley. Unluckily booked I thought & did ok but should McKay have been natural pick for CM? Same with Kerkar - not a bad effort & looked as good as some we've seen of late, but again, if we're serious about McKay, why didn't he get a runout? Overall it came off today in the face of a severe kicking - feel better about things than any time since Naisy got crocked.
  11. Great to see Fleck involved - knew it was in as soon as Aluko feinted & let the ball run across him - for some reason I just knew he'd bury it!
  12. Jim Traynob introduced Your Call with 'And the problems pile up for Rangers' Sorry to disagree with old bullneck, but all I saw was solutions! Shame Laff got hurt, but after he sent off the high punt bullshit had to stop & we were forced to play some football! Funny how quick if came back to them! First game in donkeys we've exerted real control over a match. Bit like 1st 'Well game when injury forced selection, same again today & Ally dropped on a lineup that was easier on the eye than Anything so far this season. Don't let the bheggars start with the 'Motherwell lay down' shite - they gave ours, especially Wallace a fair old kicking, but credit to him and the rest - they kept coming back for more! Must've been great for the midfield not to see the ball flying over their heads all day & not bouncing backpast them from the front two! Quality goals, pick any of about 5 for MoM (NOT a defender this week), just heard Fleck's set to stay, referee who thought he was officiating Rollerball at times - cracking day all in all! Oh, suggested yesterday that the captain might enjoy seeing 'Well again - more of the same please Davo!
  13. Oh yes - just another example of the way things seem to be run throughout the club these days.
  14. Our scouting network is headed by a couple of guys from the 9 in a row days, the management team same. Jobs for the boys anyone?
  15. Happy birthday! Hope the team does you proud to round off the day! Only had hospitality once at Ibrox - was a draw with Falkirk round time scum almost went bust. Got to say the overall package meant the iffy result hurt a bit less than normal (I'd got a few down me!) Sticks in my mind this burd asks ' are you a Rangers fan then? ' Answer 'yes, why?' Her 'well you seemed a bit more animated than everyone else when they scored!' Be prepared for there being a few folk around you who aren't as committed as you (folk take business connections & a fair few aren't bluenoses!) & have a cracking day!
  16. Weaknesses: Failure to win 10 in a row Some excruciating home performances, especially en route to Manchester Overall poor record in Europe, with some howlers in amongst Strengths ABSOLUTELY the man you wanted to be the face of Rangers - always dignified & if he ever had a gripe, managed to express it without diminishing either his or the club's position Getting 9 in a row Getting 3 in a row with constraints of the period (but see excruciating above to temper that a bit!) Getting to Manchester - so pleased to say I've seen thd Gers in a major euro final (even if it ended badly )
  17. Sorry, that included Jimbeamjunior!
  18. Pair of you would get a rep for this if I wasn't on my phone
  19. Thought this thread meant Nigel Spackman was in town:)
  20. Very possibly, though they might've given it a bit more fanfare? Think he'd stood in a bit for NI & was seen as best available with captaincy experience perhaps? Probably didn't realise how well Boca would turn out - stuck in my mind how he was with Greegs after Septic rick - THAT was leadership!
  21. What a good question, too! Still referred to as 'stand-in' captain, as though DW might yet come back! Maybe Ally expected DW to return & it's just drifted on? Your guess is as good as (probably better) than mine!
  22. Good point - bit chicken & eggish - does Davo make us play or vice versa? I probably lean more to him being inspired by the others. Would be good to see him play like he did at Fir Park - loved that chip through for Wylde's goal! Quite right re difference between Davo, who we all hope to recapture form we've seen previously, & Jig who, barring a few moments of inspiration (Lyon, header v Scum, volley v Sheep) has never really delivered in any position & ain't going to get better at his age with his injury issues.
  23. Davis usually has a good game against Motherwell - hope seeing them tomorrow has the usual effect
