  1. My wee fella asks for the marching bands! Good lad. Fluent with Follow Follow, the pc version as he's only three. Unedited version for his fifth birthday might be in order
  2. Must be true. It's in the publication of truth and transparency, the good old Scottish Sun.
  3. What's the charge? Are they saying 'Fenian' is sectarian? Hope you didn't admit to singing anything sectarian and your brief show this ridiculous law up for what it is, a one sided piece of legislation used to beat one section of the community. Best of luck.
  4. Hearts sing it about Hivs. Not a peep. Not a word in print. Not an arrest. Make no mistake, the reason it is 'banned' is because the perma offended mob kicked up a fuck because we sung it. As I've pointed out, it shouldn't be banned for the content, or context of the words used.
  5. So when they sing about being 'Fenians' , they are singing about being Irish Catholics......shoots down their political defence then, and they are bringing religion into football. You've used a perfect example of them using their 'offence' to their own benefit. On the Spurs thing, you're using semantics. Had I used the term 'unrepentant Fenians', your point would be moot, as the are no 'unrepentant yids', or at last there may be, but it's not a term that I know off, or is widely used.
  6. Knew someone would come back with that. The difference here is that, to my knowledge, there are no proscribed terrorist organisations who refer to themselves by the term 'N' etc Someone referring to themselves as 'Fenian army', for example, are giving their position on their social/political beliefs , voicing an alternate position, regardless of the perceived offensive nature, does not make it sectarian. The term can't be used as a political term to justify its use by those using it to declare their position, and then be deemed sectarian by those same people when an opposing opinion uses it against them. If the defence of their use of the term is that it is political, how can it be deemed to be sectarian? Is calling someone a Tory bastard now sectarian? Is calling someone a Scottish nationalist bastard sectarian?
  7. Was this ever actually banned by the authorities? I thought the vine lover made a monumental fuck up by banning it internally but nothing was ever banned per se by the SFA. I might be wrong. Anyway, I'm waiting on a case of any fan up on a charge for singing 'Fenian' , having a good defence lawyer drive a bus through this ludicrous piece of legislation. Fenian is not a sectarian word. Fenian /ˈfiːnɪən/ was an umbrella term for the Fenian Brotherhood and Irish Republican Brotherhood (IRB), fraternal organisations dedicated to the establishment of an independent Irish Republic in the 19th and early 20th century. The name Fenian was first applied by John O'Mahony to the members of the Irish republican group that he founded in the United States in 1848.[1] O'Mahony, who was a Celtic scholar, named the American wing of the movement after the Fianna.[2][3][4][5] In Gaelic Ireland these were warrior bands of young men who lived apart from society and could be called upon in times of war. The term Fenian is still used today, especially in Northern Ireland and Scotland, where its original meaning has widened to include all supporters of Irish nationalism. They call themselves Fenian army, unrepentant Fenians etc......

  15. I was told about this last night by Mark-Penny's brother in law, the person posting a couple above this. He's a very good friend of mine. Those asking how his grandad would be presented with this honour, have had it explained by eleventh floor above. What he's not explained is that his grandad used to help new signings settle into life in Glasgow, assisting with finding accommodation, and showing them around, on behalf of the club. I've had the pleasure of sitting with his Grandad watching a few games, memorably the game against the tramps when Edu scored the last minute winner. I really hope that the club sort this out.
  16. I'll be there too. UKIP, if yer feart, you can sit beside me. Looking forward to some serious questions being asked of all of them. Might even join in the questioning. "Mr Murray, naw no you pishy, the other one, can you give me any justifiable reason for backing your appointment to the board, over the head of anyone currently holding a position? What can you bring, that no other current board member can bring, and what can you offer from a commercial and corporate perspective that isn't currently available under the stewardship of the current board?" "take your time now pal........."
  17. You work in HR, is this Grievance not time barred now? As I have stated, by playing on, he's accepted the terms and conditions of his employment, should have raised a grievance at the time, and as such, I think he's farting against thunder with this claim, so long after the initial increased payment (allegedly) wasn't paid.
  18. That is a common theme when unions are involved. I'm of the opinion that if he had raised this grievance, he'd have found himself on the outside looking in, not playing every week. Your case appears to be a group case taken on by the union, which has the power to enforce change via unsolicited protests or strikes, and isn't entirely comparable to an individual case, as the story of Alexander's appears to be. Just my opinion mind you.
  19. Not backing Green in the slightest here, but If you were not being paid what you thought you were contractually due, would you keep working, or take it further?
