He's assembled a squad of good, young, hungry players on a budget a fraction of ours and no doubt on a salary probably not even a third of Ally's. Maybe this particular scenario isn't what will happen, but I am becoming more and more certain that Smith will head up a new consortium (possibly including some 'blue knight' figures) in the next few weeks or months. CG seems to be being ostracised by the power brokers within the playing side of the operation. I can't see this lasting much longer, particularly if there are more revelations. Traynor, if he is up to the job, should have been telling him to keep quiet and pick and choose what he says more carefully at the very least and should probably be making appearances himself on TV to defend the club, rather than leaving it to the likes of Chris Graham who is in the dark as much as the rest of us. Is his job just to write statements on the website?
