  1. Dennis Wise, fucking behave. He's only been mentioned because of some Ashley connection. Any bears seriously considering him based on merit are tuned to the moon.
  2. I'd get McCall in asap, though I guess that's redundant for the moment after the McDowall statement. Why was my McCall thread chopped btw?
  3. If the current shambles continues on the pitch then they won't have a choice about finances.
  4. I would like to see us go for McCall now. I know some are tired of the 'rangers man' angle, but even aside from that he performed miracles on a shoestring at Motherwell, finishing best of the rest on three occasions, and gubbed the taigs a few times. He knows how to operate in the top flight and will get us there straight away, if not via the title then through the play offs. A street wise manager who will ensure we are well equipped to deal with the overrated Deila side in February too. He is exactly the man we need to see us through the next two or three years, when building stability after the mess of the last three years is the main priority. Those wanting a big name or a side playing free flowing football need to get their head out of the clouds, this is where we are now and we have to make the very best of what we've got. McCall has proved he is exactly the man to be able to do it for me.
  5. Still think McCall is the better option having massively overachieved on a low budget here in Scotland.
  6. His salary's a fucking joke, and so is anyone defending it. Wasn't he on more than Klopp when Borussia reached the CL final?
  7. McCall would make us a disciplined unit to get promoted and give the tarriers a good game. We are much better than this fruad of a manager would have us believe. People touting some exotic choice need to get their head out of their arse. We are in a crisis and if measures aren't taken immediately our club will be in peril. We need someone who is proven in Scotland and can organise and motivate a team. He must walk or be sacked before it's too late.
  8. McCall did a superb job at SPL level with Motherwell, and beat the tims on many an occasion in the process. I'd take him in an instant until the end of the season and take it from there. He would marshall us well for the big game in January. Davies is overrated. He's been sacked a couple of times, and while he did well guiding Derby to the Prem, whenm they got there they got one of or the very worst points total ever.
  9. I don't think he's working his ticket at all. He knows he wouldn't get anything like the money he currently gets if he tries to squirm his way back into a TV career. Summed up for me when seeing him looking shit scared on the touchline when we were 3 nil down on Monday night then as it peetered out to a 1-3 he had a look of relief in spite of the still disastrous result. If the wee guys Hivs had up front had shown a bit more bottle with those chances second half, or we'd conceded a penalty from that Lee incident, a four or five goal defeat would have seen him either sacked or forced to resign. He knows he can plod on as long as there's no massive humiliation like a Forfar or Albion Rovers and is milking us for all he can get.
  10. Billy Davies has been sacked a couple of times and hasn't managed in Scotland for years, and when he did he wasn't all that good. With McCall at the helm we could hit the ground running and I believe challenge for the title straight away, given how naive the tims manager is. Anyway it's all ifs, buts and maybes. Unless we get beat 4-0 by Dumbarton or something he's not going to leave and we can't afford to sack him.
  11. He looked like he was shiting himself halfway through the second half. I think he knew he was a goner if we were gonna lose by four or five. As it petered out to a 1-3 loss the change in his expression on the touchline was palpable. Personally I don't buy the 'he's too blind to see he needs to go' argument, he's holding on for the bloated salary he won't get anywhere else when he does end up going. Get McCall in asap.
  12. I agree in terms of legend status and scoring vital goals for us over many years he should be in that eleven, but if you were picking a side based solely on ability I'd go with Negri.
  13. True, but then I'd imagine many of the big teams that finish third in the groups would still qualify for the CL anyway by finishing in the top four in the league.
  14. He was an enigma to say the least but I'd have my avatar Negri in there partnering Hateley. Unquestionably the most lethal finisher I've seen at any Scottish team in nearly thirty years watching.
  15. I agree with the general gist of what you've been saying in this thread, but Spanish clubs take the EL seriously for one and I would take a good Spanish team to beat a top four EPL team at least half the time. I don't think Spurs could win the tournament even if they were genuinely busting a gut to do so.
  16. Money's killing football. Porto won the Europa League not so long ago. Unless you mean the CL final.
  17. 24 quid is taking the piss, and I don't think we see much of the money anyway.
  18. I just don't think he's gonna leave on that salary and the current owners can't afford to sack him. How much would it cost to pay off him and the backroom staff?
  19. Does anyone still defend Charles Green here?
  20. I'm not at all confident about us beating Hearts based on their recent results and off field news.
  21. Some folk have got their head in the clouds. We would struggle to attract some of these candidates under previous circumstances let alone financially crippled and in the Championship. And legendary players usuall don't make legendary managers. McCall for me. McInnes is about the same level but is under contract and at a club that has some potential.
  22. Looked decent so far but this does not change my mind about needing change. The damage has already been done.
  23. McCall has spent about fuking 5% of the money on wages that McCoist has and still produces teams that season after season are the best of the rest in the top tier. He's gubbed the tarriers twice in the last year or two and again gave them a real game today. There's no question he would be better than what we currently have, it's like wondering if Ibrahimovic would be better than Daly there's such a gulf between the two. Plus he'd do it for about half the wages or less, as well as being able to assemble a team of fighters that would coast the Championship on a fraction of the cost. But naw, he's British, too much of a Rangers man. Let's hold fire for De Boer or AVB to sort us out.
