the thing that really grates with me is the fact that he says he knew this at half time. hes vice captain. his (and the captains) responsibility involves geeing team mates up. kicking them up the arse. call it whatever you like. but it sounds very like he was either unable or unwilling to do this but was happy to throw his team mates under a bus in an interview after the game. all the while with your new gaffer watching in the stands (that surely cant be as blind with Goldson as Gerrard)

In the squad just now we have Davis who I would rule out as shouldn't play every week Mcgregor, see above Jack, who's fitness is lacking but otherwise would be stick on for me I genuinely don't see another Captain unless we want to build someone up but we are crying out for one.

I dont like the fact that the team shape seldom, if ever, changes. And I see our sigings this summer as squad subs. However, regardless of that I would expect players to go out and play in the same manner that they are capable of. Either we have players who are not pushing as hard as they did last season or its an instruction from the bench to sit off and wait when off the ball. Either one of the above is something the manager needs to address. On top of this , there are other factors that i believe are affecting our matches so far this season in that both fullbacks are well below last seasons standard. Borna and tav have lost the ability to find a man with a cross. And borna in particular seems to have no appetite to take anyone on. They were both massive players for the whole of last season. Any striker playing, but more importantly Alfredo, always looks isolated as we end up playing deeper and deeper due to no high press. So our defenders back off. It pulls the whole team backwards. I still don't think we are a million miles off what we are all after. But there's a reason I'm sat on my couch typing this out with a belly full of beer and not managing.

Where the fuck are our subs. Team is flat as fuck. Changes and instructions needed ASAP. On goldson, biggest problem is he knows no matter what he does. He ain't getting dropped. I mean ffs he had the armband the other night and hasn't signed an extension

Goldson having a howler today. Seen someone mwntiom players making mistakes and blaming others. He's horrendous fir that this season. He miscontrolled a pass the other night and went out for a throw and you saw him roaring at tav. Thought he was great last season but defence doesn't look great this year and not taking responsibility with mistakes means its nigh on impossible to improve and avoid the same type in the future

Unsettled back line. Dont think we have played the same 2 games in a row since last season. Success comes from the back. Clean sheets. Keeper in and out. A different pairing with goldson every other game and borna / calvin swapping. I dont know what the right line up is but friendlies was the time to fuck around with it. Not now it's competitive.
