  7. There is no time limit on when your new employer can change the terms and conditions of your contract of employment by agreement with you. However, even if you agree to any changes with the new employer, if they are connected with the TUPE transfer then they may be void. Following a TUPE transfer, many employers wish to harmonise the contracts of the employees they take on with the contracts of their existing employees. However, if the only reason for this is to bring the transferred employees’ terms into line with existing employees, this is likely to be connected with the TUPE transfer even if made some time (even years) after the transfer. As such, changes might be void even if they are agreed.

  12. A thought provoking article : Source: http://thedailyrange...would-be-proud/ The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger…Hermann Göring Chilling words from a man at the heart of one of the most heinous regimes in history. He was right though, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. Especially when they are football fans who can only see the world in either black or white, good or evil, right or wrong. The venom being directed at Charles Green And Imran Ahmad may well be justified and we will see if that is the case in due course but we’ve got a massive problem within our Rangers community. The problem, simply put, is how certain bloggers are trying to whip up a hate-fueled frenzy aimed specifically at Charles Green, Imran Ahmad and anyone associated with them. If you don’t buy into this campaign then you are publicly denounced as either an idiot or a servant of the “puppet master” Imran Ahmad whose “propaganda” you are swallowing. Worse still is that the people writing what can only be described as vitriol dripping with arrogance supposedly extol the virtues of the “Rangers Standard”, that mythical quality that everyone involved with Rangers should have as embodied by Bill Struth. They aren’t that far away from passing out cruel satirical cartoons depicting Green and Ahmad as rodents in top hats before rallying everyone to go round and smash their windows. Now everyone is entitled to their opinion, that’s a given, but when you disagree with someone and their views they should not be met with insults and slurs but rational debate…”I think you are wrong let me explain my position”. Now I am a football fan and I am a Rangers fan (despite the accusations levelled at me whenever I disagree with someone) but I am also an adult. I don’t believe in Father Christmas, I don’t believe that the good guys always win and I don’t believe there is such a thing as an honest businessman. Is there a gravy train at Ibrox? You had better believe there is. Have Charles Green and co been riding it? Undoubtedly they have although to what extent is still to be proven. So why do I still notionally support Charles Green? Because what these bloggers who denounce anyone who supports Green as “idiots”, “puppets” and “propaganda swallowers” who “don’t have the interests of the club at heart” (that’s a particular favourite of theirs) aren’t giving you is an alternative or worse still giving you a false alternative that doesn’t exist. If Bill Miller hadn’t of pulled out of his bid for Rangers and took over do you think he’d be working selflessly for the club? Do you think “his” men wouldn’t have all the director positions on the board? Do you think “his” contacts wouldn’t be getting first bite at Rangers contracts? Do you think he wouldn’t be skimming a good bit of cream off the top for himself? This is the real world and this is how business works, it’s not what you know it’s who you blow. Charles Green is a businessman no better or worse than any other. Does he have the best interests of Rangers at heart? Only to the point it affects his bank balance and profit margin. The myth being peddled to fans is that there are a group of selfless buddhist monks out there who will work tirelessly for the club and take no profit from it whatsoever…and if you believe that then you probably believe in Father Christmas and all those other things I mentioned. Fans are being offered a false choice, one between black and white, good and evil, right and wrong. If you are an adult then you will realise that no such thing exists. There has been a gravy train at Ibrox long before Charles Green ever got involved. You only have to look at our hiring policy over the years. Remember Neil Murray our chief scout? Was he really the best scout we could have hired for the money on offer? Did we conduct a thorough candidate search interviewing the best candidates for the money available? Or did Neil Murray get the job because he was a former player and was connected at Ibrox? How did Ian Durrant and Kenny McDowall get into their positions? I assume we conducted a thorough search and Durrant and McDowall were literary the best coaches we could find for the backroom staff? Then of course Gordon Durie joined the club I wonder how we hired him? Now that is only a few high-profile examples but I can only imagine what goes on behind the scenes at Ibrox. Is there a gravy train at Ibrox, 100% yes there is but Charles Green is just a more recent passenger to have climbed aboard. There are a lot of people at Ibrox who’ve been living very well indeed off of Rangers over the years and questions need to be asked about how much value for money there has been. So will Paul Murray come in and sweep out all these sycophants and hangers on? Will every Rangers contract be offered up to the best bidder and not passed to a contact? Will Paul Murray only put the best people on the board and high positions like CEO etc who he has no prior relationship with and are the best candidates for the job? Will all these people he’ll bring into the club work for modest remuneration and for the good of the club? Time will tell but don’t believe the hype. Doom & Gloom So we have Dave King in the papers today telling us we’ll be in administration by Christmas. Now if that is indeed the case we need to ask some serious questions about our former chairman Malcolm Murray, you remember him the one who instigated an investigation into Green’s links with Whyte that cost the club £1m? Malcolm Murray told us in September 2012 that Rangers wouldn’t be going back into administration after one of the men who was part of Bill Millers bid for Rangers wrote an article about us in Forbes. ‘For the avoidance of doubt, there is no risk of the club going into administration and any suggestion otherwise is scandalous and appears written to attract headlines. Projections Mr Pritchett had sight of have not been relevant since May and, from the day I became chairman, I have been committed to ensuring this club lives within its means and never again comes to the brink of collapse… ‘It does not take a genius to work out that costs needed to be cut at the club and this has happened, with the first-team wage bill being reduced significantly. ‘However, we also have a plan to maximise commercial revenues and develop many areas of the club that, historically, were under utilised. ‘It is my understanding that Mr Miller’s plans were based purely on cost-cutting and little additional investment in the club.’ Now September was a long time ago but very recently, in April of this year, Malcolm Murray came out telling us, the fans, that Rangers were in good shape. “The speculation that we’re not in great financial health . . . we raised £22.5m in December and I can assure you it has not all been spent,” Murray said. “We are in pretty good financial shape. Cash is king and there are very few football clubs that have cash on the balance sheet.” That was 4 months ago and since then we must have taken £7m-£8m in season tickets sales. Now I don’t know what Malcolm Murray’s definition of “pretty good financial shape” is but I’m guessing he doesn’t mean administration in 8 months. So how then, in the space of 4 months, after a cash injection of at least £7m do we go from being financially secure to being in administration by Christmas? It seems odd that if we were in such a dire situation financially that the Rangers board, one that Malcolm was still part of at the time, would freeze season ticket prices. I mean an extra £50, something that most fans would have gladly paid would have seen an extra £1m flow into the coffers. We must have been financially secure enough for Malcolm Murray to instigate a lengthy and expensive investigation into Charles Green to the tune of £1m. Seem’s even more odd considering Malcolm Murray is part of the Paul Murray group seeking to take control of Rangers at the EGM that’s been scheduled. These self-styled Blue Knights are riding in to save us from financial doom but has Malcolm not told them that Rangers are financially sound? Now farbeit for me to be an agent of the puppet master Imran Ahmad who’s supposedly the mastermind behind everything bad at Rangers but perhaps…just perhaps the rumours of our financial doom have been greatly exaggerated? Now it could well be that Rangers are indeed in a perilous financial position but if that is indeed the case Malcolm Murray has shown himself to be a liar. Green get’s a lot of stick about Dallas Cowboys and Man Utd but there’s a big difference between being a bullshitter and coming out and telling fans Rangers are financially secure when we are months away from administration. The figure being touted by “financial experts” because of the interim financial results is that Rangers are losing £1m a month. If that is truly the case then regardless of if Paul Murray and co are successful we can pretty much kiss our club goodbye if there is no sugar daddy out there to save us or the fans don’t pony up and inject money. The current playing and coaching staff wages alone are between £8m-£9m so how on earth will we trim £12m from the budget and still be able to field a team? Now being a free-thinking adult I’m taking this forecast of financial doom with a pinch of salt. The financial doom scaremongering suits the agenda of the people trying to take over Rangers as it’s pretty difficult to stage a coup otherwise. Fans of course take the view that the absence of proof to the contrary is a clear indication that Rangers are indeed a sinking ship. It seems that our board should just jump and reveal all the inner workings of our club every time someone pitches up at our door with some wild-eyed claim. One thing is clear though, someone is lying. So do me a favour and think for yourself and when someone doesn’t agree with you don’t attack them, try to have a rational debate, after all what would Bill Struth think?
