  1. Someone needs to yank on Super's face to make sure it's really him and not Craig Shyte wearing an Ally mask...
  2. You don't need to know the exact salaries involved, all you do is look at the standard of the player, then look at where that standard of player can generally be found elsewhere. For example, it could be argued that (apart from Wallace) our players are all of English League 1 & 2 standard - some even conference standard. Then factor in that recently, ex-players have publically stated that we overpay our players - an opinion widely considered true. The average wage for both of those English Leagues (from a quick Google search) is around the 65-80k mark. Taking all of this into account, do you really believe that any of our players that stayed 'for loyalty and the cause' were earning less than 65-80k? Obviously, few people know exact figures of who earns what or has been offered what, but you can hazard a decent guess judging by their ability (or lack of it in many cases).
  3. Obviously it helps when the club you love and supported all your life are paying you more than any other club would ever pay you. The dilemma only occurs when you know you can get 'more' elsewhere...
  4. 'I just stayed for the money' is a phrase that has never been uttered by a professional footballer, ever, in the history of football. (Most likely) they will claim it was for other reasons such as family or being settled or their kid's being at school, which if course may actually be true and the money becomes an added bonus. If it was me, I'd be the same. Sometimes you have to tell people what they want to hear...
  5. The last paragraph was a question.
  6. I also said '(most likely)' because I didn't know 'for sure'...
  7. I don't claim to know anything. It's all just an educated guess using common sense against human nature.
  8. I think booing the team off the pitch collectively after a shite performance is perfectly reasonable. It's our right as we pay their wages. Shouting, 'Aird, you're fucking pish' during a game is a different matter and crosses the line if what is acceptable.
  9. Of all of those who stayed after admin, only Lee Wallace could be considered to be truly loyal. The rest who stayed (and that includes Jig) did so (most likely) because they knew they would never get paid equal or better than what they were getting at Rangers. Sure, some might have stayed because they had family or didn't want to move away, but none of them were (likely) gonna better themselves financially by moving (apart from Wallace). Those that did leave all knew they could better themselves financially which is why they did their respective runners. They showed ZERO loyalty, which is why it always strikes a raw nerve when one of them is mentioned. Can the ones that stayed be considered 'loyal'? I think certainly Lee Wallace can - the rest would have had their own agendas, (and been given good advice). They also would have been more than happy to impress upon the more naive fans that they stayed out of loyalty to the club - they would have been overjoyed at the thought of some people actually believing that...
  10. What was it at the equivalent time for the last two years - anyone?
  11. He looks more like Steve 'Interesting' Davis.
  12. That's the thing - he WILL get found out, and it will all be too late to do anything about it. We will have a squad of about 5 or 6 players with future use and the rest will be liabilities. In other words, we will be fucked again, only this time we won't have 3 'freebie' seasons to recover from it...
  13. Our youth team would probably beat our first team. Go figure. Therein lies the problem a lot of people have with our manager.
  14. I played in the Milk Cup in 1989 at U16 level. Was one of my most memorable experiences. I remember a few years after that, Charlie Miller won best player as Rangers won the U16 tourney. Not long after, I remember Rangers getting beat in the final by a team from Dublin (think it might have been Cherry Orchard) and there was a bit of aggro with 100s of people in the crowd singing all the old classic Rangers songs like the Sash & Derrys walls - that was the straw that broke the camels back, so to speak, as Rangers never returned after that controversy... Until now!
  15. That 5-1 match... Amazing. We scored our 5th on 65 minutes too - shoulda been more!!
  16. You said it mate. People still go on as if we are a top side. We're not. At best, we are mediocre with about 3-4 decent players, with the rest just making up the numbers, ala Aird and Mohsni etc... We should have been two-thirds of the way back to the top, with an exciting team, relishing the upcoming season, but instead we are hanging by a thread, with absolutely ZERO momentum.
  17. Exactly. People seem to have forgotten we are fucking atrocious and NOBODY in that league will be concerned about playing us. Everything about us currently is bordering on woeful. People wondering about whether we will go unbeaten? Whats up, didn't you watch the shite served up last season!? We will be lucky to get a play-off spot...
  18. I'm surprised people actually think it's a given that we will even get promoted.
  19. Just realised! Balls. Knew it was too good to be true. Was on holiday for the Portsmouth game a few years ago and was delaying booking anything for this... Ah well.
  20. Gazza now lives in Bournemouth. We need to get him in amongst us for the game...
  21. What's the odds on him getting a 3 year contract, starting at 7k per week, rising to 9k then 10k in his last year? You can pretty much guarantee it will be something along those lines...
