  1. Alistair Overeem is out of the SF heavyweight tournament. Says September is too soon for him to get in a proper training camp.something about an injured pinky toe as well. Daniel Cormier replaces him vs Bigfoot Silva. Bigfoot would have mauled him anyway. Can't link as im on my phone.
  2. Little Nog has pulled out of the co main at 133 against Franklin. No replacement as yet. Nog Injured These injuries are getting unreal just now. You think its just bad luck, or that fighters are now just not fighting while injured after the UFC gave them insurance?
  3. Fedor by sub is my pick i think. Although Hendo could knock out a rhino. When was the last time either of these guys were in a shit fight? Both game as fuck, solid chins, no point fighting. Two old school Pride guys that go for the finish every time they fight. It will be a cracker.
  4. On another subject, what you guys think about Fedor vs Hendo? I cant wait for that fight. Two of the sports legends. I cant choose.
  5. Some quality fights announced. Barring injuries the tail end of the year will be unbelievable.
  6. This doesn't really surprise me. I have it on good authority he wanted to go to England rather than stay here.
  7. Ally said that he hopes to add someone within 24-48 hours. Looks like it's gonna be the Spanish boy. http://fb.me/ZCI1VPh6
  8. I am - under 11's. One thing I try to do is make everything game relevant and fun. I find my guys get bored and stop learning if drills are not interesting enough. Even turning drills into a mini competition, or having a fun forfeit keeps them tuned in. I don't often use websites, I try to break down important components of the game (marking etc) and turn them into fun drills. The SFA website has some good stuff I used when first starting.
  9. Say what you want about 'Cup Cheik', but one thing is for sure - he is one tough bastard. I'm sure he's only been stopped due to strikes once, by the hurricane. Barry has power, I'm sure Kongo went out about three times within 10 seconds.
  10. Renton is where I came from. My granda used to talk about the Renton side.
  11. Just watched Inside MMA there, Ed O'Neil (married with children) is on this weeks episode, had no idea he is a BJJ black belt under Rorion Gracie. Not really news, just found it interesting.
  12. Nate Marquardt didn't weigh in for tomorrows fight with Rick Story. Seems he failed his medical, no further details have emerged as yet. Story will now fight Charlie Brennerman, with Kongo vs Barry now main event. Dana White just confirmed Marquardt has been cut from the UFC. Curious to find out just what the fuck has happened, think there is more to it than Nate not making weight.
  13. Positive news. Seems the days of us being kept in the dark are over. Not sure if thats a good thing. Like the stance on bougherra, if you are not dedicated to the gers, there is no place for you.
  14. I think he will take the win, the key for me though is how he manages to dictate the pace of the fight. Both fighters make their opponents fight at their pace. Wont be easy for either guy to control.
  15. True. We will find out one day hopefully. GSP for the win. He has to get through Diaz first anyway, that brings its own problems.
  16. Got me wrong there mate, I was saying i respect him because he shuts down opponents. Plus bigger doesnt equal stronger. Look at BJ, managed to KO a legendary WW in Hughes, before drawing against the number 2 in the world. He did not take time out to bulk up, and can still hang with the best of them because of his superior skill. GSP is just as, if not more, skilled. I think he could dominate the division now. But what do I know. At the end of the day, GSP will do what he feels is right. Do I have to agree? No.
  17. Wrong choice of words perhaps, just looks to me as if GSP doesnt want any part of that matchup. GSP is a phenomenal athlete and martial artist. I just think that if this fight doesnt take place there will always be that question. And im pretty sure GSP frequently trains with guys who are much larger than he is. Anderson isnt a fighter that bullies and overpowers opponents, and can be taken down, we have all seen that. I respect GSP as much as any fighter, more so perhaps, just because he is simply better than everyone else. How many times have we seen him totally shut down an opponent. P4P number 1? only one challenger to the crown.
  18. I dont think its as big an advantage really. In my last tournament I tooled a guy that had 20kg on me, but got beat by a guy that was a little lighter. To much emphasis is put on size imo. Like i said, look at the Brock vs Cain fight. Velasquez had the superior technique, skill and cardio. Brock had size and strength to his advantage. Not comparing that fight to GSP vs Silva, just merely an example of how more weight can be a disadvantage against the right fighter and gameplan. Skill and athleticism is more important than weight imo. And GSP has both in abundance, as well as the ability to follow a game plan to perfection. I actually think GSP could beat Silva.
  19. If GSP really wants a legacy, he needs to grow a pair and move up to fight Anderson. At the minute, to me he looks and sounds scared. Look at BJ penn, he moved up. Legend. Silva moved up. Legend. All this need to put on muscle pish is ridiculous. If you truly believed that you are the best fighter in the world, but others say that the other guy is, there's only 15 pounds in weight difference, what's stopping you taking the crown? Cain V gave up at least 25-30 pounds against Brock, but he was the superior fighter and punished him. GSP is afraid to lose rather than determined to win.
  20. Quality. Business as usual eh Dana? GSP via dry hump. Although I will be supporting Diaz, he had bother with wrestlers in the past, and when was the last time he beat one?
  21. Stann for me. He hits hard. Not 100% on this one.
  22. True, Pickett is no joke though. Johnson will put him on his back repeatedly imo. Needs to get close though, otherwise Torres jabs his face to a mess.
  23. dont quite know why one judge scored 30-27 Cariaso. Decision seemed about right to me. Ive got Mighty Mouse in this next one. Mostly because i dont like Torres. Grove to get cut? 2nd fight in a row he has offered hee-haw.
  24. McDonald, Tibau and Barao took the win. Tibau via rnc, the others decisions.
