  1. I agree with everything but that! I think he'd rather play a less-skilled player with more 'experience'. Well he plays Bougherra not Dailly. Thomson not Hemdani. And regularly leaves out DMB, Darcheville etc. Dailly was cover, Thomson was his buy, DMB is off form and Darcheville can't start in front of an in form Boyd-Miller partnership. Smith has too many favourites to be a 'master tactician'. Talking about favourites, I'm still dreading the return of McCulloch - at CH!! You're right there, I seen his handball in the reserves the other day it was a shocker. If we get rid of a few in January surely we could actually buy a decent CH. It's a position where you can buy good players for non extortionate prices shown with the likes of Cuellar and Bougherra.
  2. I'd rather be looking at the tally they score against us this season, so far its 4-2 us. Atleast thats something genuine we can all laugh at, and I hope their tally stays at 2 all season. Bring that league back to Ibrox!!!
  3. I agree with what most people are saying on here that he doesn't seem to be skilled in bringing youngsters through. One of the first things Advocaat did when he came here was stress the importance of a good youth system and training set up such as Murray Park. Our u19's team has been fantastic the last 2 seasons and I'm sure Murray Park will have had a big part to play in that but how many of these young lads will eventually come through in a few years? One thing Smith doesn't do which I admire is that he doesn't panic buy 11th hour shit signings as much as Mcleish used to (obviously with the exceptions of some for both managers)
  4. He done a good job for us last season and always gave his all. I don't think he has much to give us this season though so I'd be glad to see him leave in January. We have enough cover and I would rather see chances being given to some of our younger squad members.
  5. He's gonna struggle to replicate last season. He seemed to change into a £10m rated keeper far too quickly for my liking and he's one of the one's which has taken to the wrong side of the limelight, I'm not saying he's not good enough but its hard for anyone to keep that kind of standard. I agree you need to play your in form players all the time rather than big name players, especially when it comes to goalkeepers.
  6. I think the queen should turn round and say "he played for the team I love, he shouldn't have to pay taxes".
  7. Good stuff Rangers!! Does this mean the media may have to write something good about us or will this just go unnoticed to the like of the Daily Record and co?
  8. What about his time with celtc? I think it's fair to say he looks like he's enjoying his football a lot more at Rangers than he did for them. I think with the creativeness of our midfield and the nicely forming partnership with Boyd the situation is a lot different.
  9. Just thought, if anyone had just come from Derby they'd probably lack composure in front of goal the poor lad had probably forgotten what the white sticks were there for. He's gonna get chances at Rangers and will only get more confidence infront of goal and strengthen his finishing.
  10. Just keep it up Boyd keep it up. Surely if you were him and you realise that once you put the graft in you reap the rewards, you'll continue to try harder, I'm hoping thats the case. He's a great finisher and hopefully becomes a great all round striker. Obviously he should have tried harder the last few years but thankfully he's turned the corner before it was too late and Rangers can only benefit from that for what will hopefully be years to come.
  11. Miller's been one of our best players this season but I agree with the original post that he's obviously not the best finisher around. If Miller can take a leaf out of Boyds book and work harder on his finishing that would be awesome but I think its harder to improve finishing than your general work rate which is what Boyd had to do. I hope Boyd and Miller can carry on learning from each other and with McCoist's experience I can see this partnership getting better and better.
  12. Yeah I wouldn't let it get to you. Atleast we kept going last season thats why people kept writing. We got to the final and should be proud. You probably wont hear much more negative reports on Celtic either cause they're going nowhere in Europe :harhar:
  13. I can't see him going for that price and he's not good enough to go for anymore so I wouldn't worry. We should be thinking about spending 3mil on bringing another centre back in ourselves never mind selling them.
  14. Aaron wasn't with Valencia's reserves last season. I know that but I'm sure they would have had kept tabs on him for a while, it's usually the cases with these players. Either way thats the kind of player we want and need
  15. I've seen some of the best midfield play from Rangers for a few years recently and that was without Ferguson. Obviously you don't wanna see him go because he's a strong charachter in the dressing room and always tries to pick up the rest of the team but when it comes to playing on the pitch Thomsons proved he could be a great player for us for years to come and would be far more valuable to us.
  16. I'm sure our scouts are looking heavily into Spains reserve league, after all we have just signed Aaron! I've only managed to see him a few times in our reserve games but I'm sure he'll turn out to be better than Sandaza. We need to keep bringing in the pick of the youth and Zandaza doesn't fit into that category.
  17. I voted Broadfoot because I've seen more of him at right back, I think Whittaker is a more talented player but unfortunately I doubt Iwe'll get to see as much of him at right back and will just be used around numerous positions again
  18. We could do with some added competition at the back, there's no real fight for places there which may bring up the performances. A real quality centre back would be great. Imagine having a defence as strong as our midfield (or am I just dreaming now?).
  19. I'd love to see Hutton back at Ibrox but since we've only got domestic games this season I think what we've already got in that position should be enough for us to cope just for this season with a view to strengthening in the summer. We're in much more need of keeping a quality midfield to win the league back rather than a right back.
  20. If we can concentrate on strengthening the back four in January like we did with the midfiled we'd have a solid team. Last night we played some great football at times and were unlucky not to score more goals. Unfortunately there'll be more games like that this season which is frustrating cause like everyone I wanted to see Rangers back on the top where they belong last night. If we play some of that creative attacking football against Celtic come 27th December at Ibrox I'm sure we'll once again humiliate them. WATP
  21. I can understand Boyd not playing 90 minutes but I was looking forward to seeing him out there yeserday. If a goal is what you want then what Scotland had to offer on the bench there's only one choice and that was Boyd. As for the Iwelumo miss, I've never rated the guy but a miss like that happens to every striker its not so much down to ability as he can obviously usually put them away, but its a one off which even world class players will miss at some point. I think Boyd's right to show his feelings because he deserved a run out ahead of both Fletcher and Iwelumo but it should just be left at that. Let the manager know your unhappy with his decision, show your eagerness to play but most of all knuckle down and fight gor your place. Turning your back on your country wont help anyone especially himself.
  22. If this isnt in the Daily Record tomorrow I'll be fuming. There's no way these scum should get away with this everyone should know what horrible fuckers the tims are.
  23. 3m is a fair bit to spend on a defender, you only have to look at how much we spent on carlos cuellar to see what quality we can pick up. I wouldn't worry too much I'm sure we'll get somewhere better, Celtic are shit anyway and anyone who goes there is shit. I only hope we make a good deal soon and dont buy some hasty last minute deadline signing which wont benefit us properly.
