  1. We get our hands on this little beauty. The old premier division and old, old first division trophy! (Unless they've changed it this season without my knowledge)
  2. Immediate Essentials: General maintenance, jobbing repairs and painting all over the stadium including all stairways, concourses, replacing seat numbers etc. Replacing/covering the horrible perspex wind shields on the Broomloan and Copland. Deep cleaning and repair of the roofline structures, including the club deck beams and removing the family stand sign. Basic improvements to the surrounding area. Next steps: Introduction of safe standing area(s). Further improvements to surrounding area, including redevelopment of Edmiston house site, ideally a complete new build that functions as a museum/fan bar/restaurant/conference centre/ticket office. Would also like to see the community pitch in front relocated and an Ibrox walkway built down towards the main stand entrance. If truly back in the big time/Dream stuff: Stadium expansion. I liked the idea of the third tier on the Govan stand that was often spoke about in the mid-2000's. The commonwealth games video from 2007 even featured renders of this (shown below), so I'd like to think these plans must've been seriously considered before all the financial/tax shite started. Building a 4/5 star hotel around the stadium, possibly on the vacant land where the high rises used to be. Ideal for fans coming from abroad and a great selling point for tourists and business meetings, with the transport links between the airport and city centre being so good. Lobbying to have Ibrox railway station reopened, particularly if/when crossrail and the airport link finally get going. This would link perfectly into the hotel plans above as the station would be right next to it.
  3. Ball is shite, I really don't get what people on here see in him. Don't get me wrong, Wilson is shite as well but Ball is no better. Slow, bad decision making, makes costly mistakes.....I could be speaking about any one of the two. I really like Kiernen although he is prone to the odd error as well but I think he'd thrive with another quality centre half in beside him which needs to be the priority for next season, along with a commanding holding midfielder.
  4. The South Stand is one of the newer stands behind a goal, so they've kicked themselves out of their own main stand and given us both sides and the normal away end!
  5. I'm fairly sure it's less than 10k. Regardless of the figure, it's never been higher than 20k at any time so you'll be guaranteed one. I've never missed out anyway.
  6. I don't know the numbers involved but if an excessive amount of people have received extra tickets then surely the sensible option would be to issue completely new tickets to everyone, making the initial batch void?
  7. http://rangers.co.uk/news/academy-news/academy-seven-sign-new-deals/ THE CLUB is delighted to announce that seven players from the Rangers Academy have pledged their futures to the Light Blues today. Fresh from making his debut for the first team from the bench against Raith Rovers, Scotland under-17 captain Liam Burt has extended his deal until May 2018. The young attacking midfielder scored for Scotland under-17s in a friendly last week against Iceland with two other Gers who have extended their deals involved in the same international squad. Midfielder Jamie Barjonas played in that match and he has also extended his contract until May 2018 along with goalkeeper Kieran Wright who was on the bench for the Scotland side, with both players being key members of the Academy under-17 squad and having been involved with the under-20 side this season too. Joining Burt, Barjonas and Wright in signing extended contracts until 2018 are defenders Kyle Bradley, Jason Krones and Aidan Wilson along with Grant Nelson who has signed until 2017. Speaking at Murray Park today as the players penned their new deals, Head of Academy Craig Mulholland said: ‘We are delighted to have extended the contract of the seven lads all of whom have great potential, provided they continue to work hard, and have all represented Scotland at some point. “They have all performed well in Billy Kirkwood and Alan Boyd’s under-17s team and have responded magnificently to the work of Luke Lawrence their sports scientist, Graeme Stevenson who does their analysis work and in Kieran’s case, Colin Stewart our goalkeeping coach. “As we continue to make positive change and develop the environment within the football department in order to achieve our ambitious plans, and make the players as good as they can be, it is essential that we retain our most talented young players.” Burt making his first team debut during the week has given every young player within the Academy that extra incentive to work hard and make the step up when given their chance, something Mulholland says is vitally important for development. He continued: “The whole Academy has been given a massive lift by Liam making his debut on Tuesday, at the age of only 17, and for these players and the many other talents we have throughout the Academy it demonstrates the pathway and opportunity that exists at the club if the young player is good enough. “The Manager and David Weir have been fantastic and hugely supportive of the Academy and along with Frank McParland, who has a wealth of experience in Academy football, we have one football philosophy from the top of the club to the bottom which will help the progress of these young players. “It has been a good week with the lads renewing their contracts, Liam’s debut and our strategy of giving our younger players experience on loan, with some great performances with their temporary clubs. It is a positive exciting time to be at the club and that no doubt is a big factor in the lads agreeing to continue at Rangers and entrusting their development in the Academy staff.”
  8. The website says the money will be taken FROM Wed 2nd. I'm in the same boat as you and thought it was going to be taken yesterday, so it had me in a bit of a panic until I double checked the site this morning. Petrofac Training Cup Final Rangers v Peterhead Hampden Park Sunday 10 April 2016 – Kick Off 3pm Ticket prices are £20 adults, £10 concessions and £5 under 16’s All Season ticket holders on both Semi-Final & Final schemes will be allocated a ticket for this fixture. Payment will be taken from Wednesday 2nd March and tickets will be posted Monday 7 March.
  9. Couldn't agree more. He started the season well but he's been frustrating for a good portion of it with a poor final ball and reluctance to take the man on going into the box. The past 4 games however have been a different story. Looks full of confidence, making direct runs into the box and even getting some shots away, long may it continue!
  10. Go into the ticket office. The online site won't show available season tickets if that seat has already been sold for an upcoming game. So if someone has bought a couple of seats in the Copland rear for Saturday's game, they won't show as available in the season tickets section.
  11. Must be close to 40k sold now, judging by the stadium plan. I think we'll hit about 45/46 by KO tomorrow night.
  12. To go from the crowd we had at Hampden on Sunday - which we could have sold 3 or 4 times over - to this, is embarrassing.
  13. As title. Ticket sales are shocking, even with the prospect of a couple of new faces starting. Whether you were boycotting before or not should now be irrelevant. King is confident of winning the EGM, so boycotting is only now damaging the club no matter what way you look at it. The battle looks to have been won (if you were that way inclined previously) so apart from the gash football, there should be no more excuses.
  14. Potentially keep McGregor, Boyd has the next few months to try and get back some form. The rest can fuck off now.
  15. Engagement! Why aren't the actual board communicating or engaging with the fans? The lack of communication just adds the the mistrust and nobody has a clue about the direction this board are trying to take the club in.
  16. I don't know how anyone can class the new lyrics that were sung as sectarian anyway? ".......we hate Celtic, cheating bastards...." and ....."up to our knees in fields of blood......." don't sound sectarian to me but I can see how they might sound very similar to the old lyrics when 20 thousand are singing at the same time.
