  1. It may be physical compared to some (Spain, Portugal, France etc) but they have a lot of time on the ball compared to the British leagues and it isn't full of hammer throwers pretending to be footballers.
  2. Zelalem could turn out to be a star player in Germany or Spain but right now, he's not suited to the British game, too fast and physical for his style.
  3. It's worth looking through this site for the general info on rail seats, it really should be a no brainer. http://www.safestandingroadshow.co.uk
  4. No we wouldn't. The stadium is still classed as all seated, that's the whole point, you lock the seat up to stand or lock it down to make it a seat. Dortmund and Hamburg are the two best examples of UEFA Elite stadiums with massive safe standing sections.
  5. There you go mate http://stv.tv/sport/football/289210-explained-how-safe-standing-would-work-in-scotland/
  6. I'm all for it by the way. Obviously bringing the old dear back up to standard and stability on the park is more important but this should be seen as a priority after that. Would love to see the Enclosure and Copland Front as standing.
  7. Not in Scotland though. One of the conditions of allowing the safe standing trial here was that the standing capacity shouldn't exceed the seating capacity. I think the filth are actually going to lose a bit of capacity due to the modifications they've had to make to exit stairs or some shit like that.
  8. Fitting tribute that he'll be playing his last game with his local team and the team he spent his glory years with. I'm sure he'll get a great send off from both sets of fans.
  9. Aye, good point, it's much better if we don't bother arranging any games at all for the 3 weeks we have without a competitive game.
  10. My 2011/12 price was 20% more expensive than my current price and I think we had around 37k season ticket holders then, almost exactly what we have now. As has been mentioned, our wage bill should be significantly smaller than it was in 2011/12 and although we are running at a loss just now, we wouldn't be servicing a massive debt like we were then. A 10% increase would keep most fans happy, bring in extra revenue and hopefully hit season ticket numbers of 40k+ again. Shall we split the difference and call it 15%?
  11. Should hopefully be the first time in a good few years that we break 50k anyway.
  12. It would be impossible to try and justify anything more than a 10% increase which I think will probably end up being the case.
  13. They will probably have less than 50 seats, so it will probably just be a couple of rows with a bit of tape and some stewards. If we gave them the whole of CD7, then it would defeat the point in us taking the corner, as we'd just have about a thousand empty seats up there instead.
  14. Just checked and confirmed we would go into round 2, meaning 3 rounds in total to make the group stages. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016–17_UEFA_Europa_League
  15. Scottish cup winners get the best Europa spot, or at least they have done previously. This year, the Scottish cup winner entered at qualifying round 2 whereas the 2nd and 3rd place teams in the league entered in the first qualifying round.
  16. For all our possession and dominance, they still had more clearcut chances and were shooting from anywhere, so the highlights don't really reflect the live game. Doesn't matter at the end of the day, the game itself, most of the written match reports and result tell the real story.
  17. No justification whatsoever for them getting 50%. 12k for their semi, average home attendance about 10k max this season, fuck that. We should get about 27.5k with them getting 17.k, leaves 5k for the hospitality and members.
  18. Aye but remember Celtic and Scottish football don't need us.
  19. Take the players to a sunny, easy going training camp with a friendly over there and then another friendly when home.
  20. He's the type of player you can see having a great career in a slower paced league, like in Spain or Italy. He has plenty of skill and composure but doesn't have the grit and speed needed for the British game. He's still young though. That being said, I thought he was superb when he came on today.
  21. Aye, very surprised but pleased at that, as long as they aren't right next to me now!
  22. If that's the case, then Alloa must only have the very top section of the corner, which is understandable considering how small their fan base is and the fact they probably don't want to go to a title party when they've been relagated. I'm just surprised it's been allowed given how severe our segregation has been all season with absolutely no justification.
  23. Either Alloa have handed back all of their ticket allocation or somebody at the ticket office has fucked up here.
  24. After 2020, I think you'll see the national team's games and cup games being played at various stadium around the country, similar to countries like Spain and Germany. Hampden will still be used but nowhere near as frequently as before, with just the odd international and Old Firm Semis and Finals being played there. Murrayfield would be perfect for big Scotland games but a logistical and policing nightmare for an Old Firm game.
  25. Exactly. We are just late to the party but I'm glad we're finally doing it. Relatively cheap and effective way of tidying the place up. Surely the yellow Broomie/Copland windshields will be getting done? They'll look great there and you'll be able to see them from out front on edmiston drive or sitting in the main stand.
