Rhys McCabe is a really exciting young manager. If we need somewhere for our youngsters to go on loan and get games he is somebody who I would trust to help develop them. Not only goes he encourages good football, he also has the first hand experience of what is required to make it to our first team.

Thought Aaron Lyall was lively when he came on, not sure how many times he’s featured this season.

I honestly think they’ll try and get rid of VAR in the summer. And like I’ve said it’ll be absolutely brutal for us.

Just listened to H&H update and seemingly Doncaster has criticised VAR so wouldn’t be surprised if this is the start of it and the inevitable dog whistle to like minded pundits and journalists.

    What about the Sunday one?

Knew there was one I was missing 😂

There are cup ones as well, think 3 out of 4 over the two tournaments were given by the ref rather than VAR, Dickinson needed VAR for the home game against Morton.

Weird in the cups that’s 75% ref award but league is 19% with greater volume of decisions.

Stats are all about the optic you wish to view them in.

    They are pish.

Had a spare 10 minutes from work so did a review.

We have had 12 penalties in the league this season, only 3 of them were given initially by the ref.

Those 12 penalties were awarded as follows.

    McDermid 2 VAR

    Muir 2 1 VAR

    Clancy 2 VAR

    Walsh 2 VAR

    McLean 2 1 VAR

    Beaton 2 1 VAR

    It’s now 3 out of 15 with the latest ones being;

Hibs at home Dickinson awarded by VAR.

filth at home Beaton awarded by VAR.

Ross Co away McDermid awarded by VAR.

  5. In seriousness there isn’t a good ref in Scotland never mind one that can handle this game with so much riding on it.

They have picked a ref universally disliked but is probably the most experienced in the country.

It was never going to be Beaton or Clancy, Walsh had a shocker the last game at the piggery, Robertson just let’s VAR make decisions so you are then in the realm of Anderson, Dickinson, McDermid who are all horrific with straightforward games.

Good player. A lot of decent Scottish midfielders in the league just now.

Would take any one from him, Cameron, Watson, Miller or Barron to replace Jack. Preferably Barron.

McGowan played well against us when we won 3-1 and was probably the best player in the recent draw, think he’s a bit older than the other 4 you listed who have all looked good at different times this season.

Would be interesting to see where Bailey Rice is viewed in house as to what these lads have done this season.

  7. Butland

    Tav Balogun Goldson Barisic

    Lundstram Sterling

    Diomande

    McCausland Dessers Cantwell

Can’t be fucked with Silva or Lawrence so Cantwell to take one for the team and play wide left.

If Yilmaz is fit I would play him over Borna as imagine McInnes will target him with Armstrong after that performance in February.

Any win will do but would nice to do it with a couple of goals to spare rather than sitting nervy as fuck.

  8. The St Mirren player has plenty of time to avoid Butland, was a shocker of a decision from Walsh to award a foul, to then add to it by booking him was ridiculous.

I am probably more of the dignified silent type but this should really be called out in relation to the referring standard that we have to endure as this clown is considered one of the better ones.
