True but these guys all came from the English championship which is the 7th richest league in the world. Wages wise they must have been on a fair amount of money and not comparable with the kind of signings we've made from the SPL. Anyway even if we did have the money no player worth his salt would go from the English Championship to SFL3.

Good talented young players would be snapped up by EPL and English Championship sides long before Rangers got near them. Our wages are very good in Scottish terms but compared England it's chicken feed. Look at the kind of money Ryan Gauld went for that's an indication of what you have to pay for these type of players. Occasionally we might be able to pick up a Gattuso but that is the exception rather than the rule.

Was making more of a general point rather than one about Cowie, and that was you can be a good player after the age of 30 and anyone a few years older than that does not need a bus pass or Zimmer frame. Why is the opening ceremony of the CWG at Parkead while the actual games themselves and closing ceremony are taking place at Hampden park? What if this jobless manager with no money to spend turns out to be worse than Ally then what?

To be fair Ally is hardly likely to come out and say Hibs are pish and we will smash them 10-0 next season that would only light a fire under them as I expect them and Hearts will raise their game big time against us next season. Also the reason Rangers have been so defensive is our back 4 are dire (Wallace excluded) if we had gone with 4-4-2 much of the time last season we would have lost a lot more goals.
