  1. Financial problems will derail Hearts by the turn of the year wait and see. This is a club that ran out of money before the 13/14 season even started BDO had to put the begging bowl out asking fans to organise bake sales, extra STs sales etc just to keep them going. Wait till the SFA come knocking at that rickety old door down swinecastle way asking for the £525,000 football debts. Rangers will win the league cause we have way too much fire power with Boyd,Miller,Clark & Daly take Sow out of the Hearts side who gets them 20+ goals this season?
  2. Bit off topic but if you look at Scottish football as a whole it's dying on it's arse. Not counting the Rolf Harris fc game today the 4 other SPL games got a grand total of 14k one game got 1500. All things considered anything over 15,000 would be decent on Monday.
  3. What would not playing football for 2 seasons have done for the club? Every player at the club would have been sacked on the spot if that happened, how do we then go out and sign 40 odd players to replace them with no league to play in? A football club that can't play football is a bit like a plumber who can't fix burst pipes. How do we pay running costs for Ibrox and MP with no ticket money, shirt sponsor & TV income?
  4. Like most wingers Aird tends to blow hot and cold. He's got great pace but tends to get the ball and run right into opposition players at times. He is certainly not a player who will be play 40 games a season at a constant level and a wee break away from the team at times might be good for him. Certainly agree with the sentiments that he should be in the team the next few weeks as Temps has been dreadful the last few games.
  5. Taking one or two years out was giving the haters exactly what they wanted. Would also mean a minimum of 5 or 6 years with no European football as opposed to 3 or 4 as it is now. Also if we quit the league our place would have been taken by another team meaning no space in the SFL/SPFL at a later date. No football for 2 years would also mean sacking every employee at the club and leaving only a skeleton staff in place and at the end of the 1-2 years we would have probably just have ended up in the bottom league anyway so it would have all been for nothing.
  6. Hearts have no real strength in depth Rangers do that's why we'll win the league. Said it before but let's see if Hearts can handle the pressure of going away to Cowdenbeath or Alloa in the middle of winter in front of a small crowd play badly and have to grind out a win.
  7. It's not really a shock that the squad has very little value as most of it consists of free transfers from middle of the road SPL clubs. You get what you pay for in life if you sign a £5m striker from Barcelona chances are he'll be a good player if you sign a free transfer from Motherwell chances are he won't be great. It's like buying a Skoda and expecting it to be worth more than a Bugatti Veyron.
  8. Telfer came on in the 83 min when DU were 2-0 up let's wait and see how many games he actually starts for them this season.
  9. Our youth team is not that good and would not be a vast improvement on the players we have right now. Sorry to say that but it's the truth also what's the point of paying guys like Daly etc 4-5k a week to sit on the bench for 6 months and do nothing?
  10. Been a ST holder for near 18 years on and off and I have to say set-pieces both for and against have been utter pish for over a decide now. Even Under Advocaat and Eck we would lose goals from corners that we had just taken nothing much has changed over the years TBH. Even when we've had millions of pounds worth of talent in the team how many free kicks ended up in row z of the Broomloan or Copland over the years. While I agree that an experienced gaffer might do a better job sadly we just don't have the money for that. It's either a player who has just retired or someone out of a job right now as replacement.
  11. Hearts were relegated before a ball was kicked last season that gave them a bit of leeway to blood youngsters which Rangers did not have. If they lost 20 games last season it meant nothing, if a Rangers manager filled the team with kids and lost a couple of games he gets it in the neck.
  12. My main worry about the attitude of the Ally out at all costs argument is that the club might be rushed into making a daft appointment on a long term contract. If a new guy comes in and loses his first two games we are right back to square one. Rangers are a huge club and in normal circumstances we would have our pick of managers but I don't think a lot of gaffers would come near us right now given the disharmony at the club and a fan base that's so divided.
  13. Yes people might not have bought ST cause of the crap football I don't deny that but... We sold 38,000 season tickets in 2012/13 and still lost £14,000,000 Last season 35,000 and another big loss. Even if we get to 35,000 ST this season the club would still be running at a loss.
  14. I 100% agree we have no long term vision for the team but it's not easy when Rangers have a different board of directors every 6 months. The biggest and most important partnership at the club is between the CEO and Manager Ally's worked under 3 different CEOs and 4 different chairman in 3 years. Is any other gaffer going to put up with that kind of upheaval every few months? People might not want to hear this but football is no longer a sport it's a business.
  15. No a gaping wound is that right now we don't have the money to see out the season. This should be every true Rangers number one priority at the minute.
  16. I'm not debating that we were rubbish in both games only that sacking Ally or not Rangers will still be a mediocre team who will lose games this season. We should be putting our efforts into fixing the real problems off the park first then fix the football side.
  17. We may as well just start a petition against the guy who takes over from Ally right now cause results won't change much with this team. None of the starting 11 yesterday would have got near a Rangers first team strip 10 years ago or even 5 years ago. As much as fans may feel passionate about the team the reality is no one is coming in with a magic wand that is going to make a collection of free transfers into a world class outfit. Problem is we are signing guy from Southend Utd and then wondering why Rangers are not a very good team. It's been 2 years since Rangers spent a fee on a player and it's likely going to be 3 years before we pay for a player again maybe longer the way things are going. Yeah the wage bill has been £6m but that's down to paying vastly inflated wages to attract these players to sell season tickets. All sacking Coisty does is put a plaster over a gaping wound.
  18. Yes let's bring back a guy who said he had to go into hiding because Rangers fans threatened him and who was part of a board that posted a £14,000,000 operating loss in under 1 year. This is what Rangers really need right now.
  19. Walter Smith won't take the job he left the position of chairman cause he was sick to death of the constant rubbish at the club. The man won't risk his reputation coming back to a club that's like a ship with a huge hole in it's side.
  20. Rangers have a fractured fanbase as it is this would cause a meltdown. Are some fans forgetting he ran his mouth to the rags about how Rangers fans had threatened him and that he had to go into hiding? Him and Ahmed ripped the pish out of Rangers fc, feck Tommy the mental taxi driver was invited into Ibrox under Green that says everything about the how the club was being run at the time. Green is a car crash which might be excusable if he ran the club properly but he did not and never will.
  21. Oh I don't know kind of thought that if you use a bunch of superlatives to describe a player you must think he is good. My mistake saying he is fast, strong etc obviously means you don't rate him at all.
  22. You never said he was a great striker so what are you implying then by saying he looks strong ,hungry and fast? That he's pish? Bookmark this thread and come back in May then we'll see who the best striker is.
  23. Boyd's just came back from an operation on his ankle and is nothing like 100% fit. You don't score 189 goals in the SPL and be an average footballer if that's the case then why does every other average striker in Scotland not score that amount? Sows been in Scottish football for 5 minutes it's daft to say he is a great striker based on one game. Come back at the end of the season and we'll see who has the most goals between these two.
  24. To be fair with the Scott Gallacher situation he would have sat on the bench all season being number two to Bell at 25 he needed to move on and get games. Hearts look like they have signed him to be a back-up keeper as well not sure if he would have made it at Rangers.
  25. Far too lightweight in midfield Law and Macleod get easily pushed off the ball at times. Got no one who can grab the game by the scruff of the neck in that area either.
