  1. If we were automatically promoted then fair enough. I just hope the squad and McCall aren't unsettled too much or we could be in the championship again.
  2. Really could do without this. McCall is in charge, he's done well to turn this mob around and we are nearly there. It's the wrong time for speculation, applications, interviews etc. let's focus on getting up then work out who will be in charge.
  3. Jack grimmer Alexia Eremenko Scott Allan Haris vuckic Stevie May (loan) Kevin holt Darren Randolph Hugo rodallega Tal Ben-haim Grant leadbitter Carlos cuellar
  4. Jelavic if we could but we can't, so forget that one. Going to be hard to find someone that can do that and we can afford them, also depends on our division next year. If we don't get up forget any well known players. It needs to be someone that right side of 30 as well.
  5. Sits alongside Alan Stubbs 2-0 is a vulnerable lead. Beckford, lambert, anya? The first two I wouldn't touch with a barge pole anyway but all 3 would command wages way beyond what we could manage. Where do people think this money is coming from? Dave King will invest but it's not going to be a case of here's 50m to blow on wages and transfer fees.
  6. Too many people counting their chickens on here. We need the same level of performance as with qots and hibs if we are to get through this. Professional, determined and full concentration for the 180 mins. I believe we have improved enough as a team to get up but certainly not buying into this 3 or 4 goal win on Thursday.......hope I'm wrong though.
  7. Crazy that people on here talking like we are through already. I'm not taking anything for granted with the playoffs. As for boycotting I think we are far better gaining revenge by dominating Scottish football once again.
  8. That would be the highlights at 4.30! Just saw the title of the video and posted before watching it. Doubt we'll see class of that calibre again.
  9. I still remember de boer giving a masterclass in ball control at tannadice where the pitch was like a minefield, think he scored a couple and assisted 2 . The guy was different class and his attitude and swagger made it all the more impressive, a true superstar player. Although I would have classed him as a midfielder more than an attacker. The fact he scored so many was because he was that much better than everyone around him.
  10. I'm on the fence here. On one hand McCall and Black have done so well for turning things around but I feel we are only now doing what most decent management teams do. It seems unfair if he leads us to promotion that he doesn't get at least another year. The other half of me thinks that mccall may be enough to steady the ship but is he the man to take us forward and play an attractive style of football. Yes there have been improvements and perhaps with his own players things would be better still but I'm just not convinced. It's an incredibly tough call for the board to make......just don't give it to billy davies or terry butcher.
  11. Positives are 3 centre backs with McCulloch and not 2. Come on lets just get behind them, regardless of who is playing. He may well score today and put us through!
  12. Wouldn't surprise me if that happens, we always seem to do things the hard way. Would absolutely love a win to keep momentum and confidence going into Thursday, but I'll settle for just going through in whatever manner.
  13. Unless he got injured or pissed McCall off he will be playing. Suspension starts from 31st May and Miller from 3rd June.
  14. I had meant the impact of souness not specifically someone who will be a player manager, have had no past experience. I'm just saying that at the moment no names being mentioned either fill me with confidence or excite me. Taking a punt on inexperience can be rewarding i.e. Souness or it can be damaging i.e. Mccoist, that's the gamble and I don't think we can afford a gamble however I don't think McCall is the man to start a revolution the way souness did.
  15. Got to agree, he's had less than 100 games in management. I think McCall has done well and it would be harsh if he got promotion then didn't get the job, but I personally don't think McCall is the right person to start a revolution at the club. We need an appointment reminiscent of souness. Who that would be? I honestly don't know.
  16. Fairly certain he has a year left. It's certainly not up this summer....think streete is out of contract though if he can't get a game now he is fit I doubt we'd sign him. Ashley won't care about who he sells him to, as long as he gets as much as he can get. Which rules us out I think. Really want to see Newcastle relegated just because I can't stand Ashley, however if they get relegated they may well keep and play vuckic if other players leave.
  17. It's the same sorry state of affairs. He may well sign for them and then will slip into obscurity rather than become a Rangers great. It's not like he's as good as gio or arteta who did go on to bigger and better things, though I doubt he'll end up like wylde, ness, McCabe etc. it's more likely he'll be a little like Weiss, end up playing in Qatar or somewhere where decent players get stupid wages. It all comes down to the player and what he wants out of his career. If we were in Europe we might have a shot in getting him but in reality even if he has loved his time here you can't offer big games week in week out. I hope wherever he ends up he's successful as he's been a catalyst for our improved performances and seems a really good guy.
  18. Hopefully we can get the job done against Hibs tomorrow and get a lead in the final so that when mcgregor is suspended we won't feel it as much. As for Miller being suspended from 3rd of June that's just bizarre, means he can score another few vital goals hopefully then miss the first game of next season.
  19. So I read this morning Alan Stubbs reckons they should raise the roof in order to rattle us.......so is this in spite of the fact they can't sell all their tickets and that rangers fans will no doubt be in the home enclosures too? The guy is a just a tad naive for saying something like that off the back of the atmosphere on Wednesday. Time to shut them up once and for all, it's pay back time for the 3 league defeats!
  20. Many will use tonight's result to justify comments made earlier, however we beat them about a month back when Gallagher scored. Also took a look at the development league top goal scorers and we had hardie on 19 without a single Celtic player in the top 7 scorers that were listed. The one thing about these development matches is that everything should be taken with a pinch of salt (in both directions), that's why I maintain that until any youth starts regularly for the first team (say at least 5 consecutive starts) that it's very hard to pass judgement on them (again either positively or negatively). What's certainly true is the play offs are the wrong time (unless injury crisis strikes) to introduce new youth players whether they are made of the right stuff or not.
  21. He needs to look at ness, McCabe and wylde and realise that it's not the best career move to go to England early on.
  22. Didn't we beat them no more than a month ago with Gallagher scoring? The lads finished 4th in the league, 12 points behind Celtic. Conceding 46 in 32 certainly suggests issues in defence. Didn't see a lot of evidence of playing from the back as Walsh had stated they were starting to do.
  23. Yet more courageous journalism I see. As much as I can't stand the job mccoist did and how much he got paid, we knew he would take his full salary for sometime now but using that picture is a disgrace to the memory of a great and late man. They should be fucking ashamed of themselves but no doubt it's worth the extra handful of papers they sell.
  24. Nice one, looks great in slo mo.......permission to look smug that it was side footed and not the back heel a la de boer and Prso. I don't care how it went in really, he took it well and the build up was the best we've seen in a long while.
