  1. Frightening how close to the truth this was.......2 mins off and shiels instead of smith and you were spot on. Mccoist just has nothing in his locker at all .
  2. The one irrefutable piece of evidence that mccoist shoulders a good chunk of the responsibility and therefore the blame is that I doubt the players consistently decide to play the long ball game after game or pick the team amongst themselves. True, the players are sub standard but if we had a manager that I could believe would paint the dressing room walls with rather than joke around with I think we'd see more out of them even playing that long ball pish. The fact of the matter is mccoist is way out of his depth and I can't see any area of his managerial credentials that are up to scratch. Time to go Ally before it's too late for the club and also you.
  3. No man is bigger than the club........unless he has an unpayable compensation package.
  4. The protest shouldn't be a personal attack. Sure he needs to know he doesn't have the backing but it doesn't have to be personal and hurtful. An organised protest against the management during the game (not when the half time or final whistle goes) should surely drive the message home. If he still says he is continuing then it's got to be money either that or he needs to get checked out by a psychiatrist.
  5. I agree, logical thought process nowhere to be seen. Has anyone seen an impartial party come forward saying give him more time? We've had brown, Johnstone, Miller, Goram to name a few.....sure there have been more. As you say it's defence of a pal and these comments are water off a ducks back and if anything rile up the fans even more.
  6. Whatever reason mccoist has for not walking be it his pride, determination, greed or delusion I was wondering what would cause him to go back on his words and walk away with no compensation package. I think realistically if we fail to get promotion that's when he'd go though I have my suspicions that he'd still try to cling on. For the record I'd have left after losing to Raith Rovers in the Ramsdens Cup Final after playi such a defensive formation.
  7. Rose tinted specs of delusion I'm afraid for those who idolised mccoist. i was 8 when we had arguably the best season of recent times, the 92/93 treble. McCoist was my hero and I always had 9 and McCoist on my shirt but that cannot sway me from my current opinion. I was worried during smiths last tenure when McCoist managed the league cup games and we were really poor. I haven't resorted to name calling but the longer he stays the more damaging it will be and waiting for a payout from a club you love for me is unforgivable. I have nothing but admiration for the player but I think so little of him as a manager but also now as a man. His recent actions in his mind might be commendable....sticking to his principles in the face of adversity however to me he has to man up and admit he is to blame, even if he did that and stayed on id have a little more respect for him just now. However, stating that you are still focussed on the job and have the support despite "hiccups" he will not resign just infuriates me.
  8. You've hit the nail on the head. We'll win our games, badly, and make a recovery of sorts until the Hibs game when we'lol lose that and it will be the players fault once again for deciding to ignore the manager and play long balls. I can only imagine the nonsense mccoist will come out with if we lose on Saturday.
  9. Haven't you contradicted yourself here. Pressure that defines us but you are trying to ease the pressure not add to it. We know the definition of the man.....he doesn't walk away regardless of what it means for all of the fans who pay his salary. While it was admirable at first with everything going on surrounding the club its time to admit, as much as it pains you to do so, that for the greater good you are stepping down. I'd say that the pressure is the only thing that will prompt change....that or getting thumped by Celtic or the worst case scenario failure to get promotion.
  10. From a football perspective I agree, a new manager and a rebuild in the championship would be better than the alternative.....get promoted via play offs and mccoist stays in charge and renews the contracts of the dozen or so players out of contract at the end of the season. However, failure to get promoted will be disastrous in terms of the business. This is why surely alarm bells should be ringing loud and clear if only the board would pull their fingers out their ears (as well as their arses). Getting a new manager with new training methods, more than one tactic in his arsenal and a more effective man management skills will give us the boost to get the play off place I feel and perhaps pressure hearts. With mccoist in charge all we can do is wait for us to fall apart....either in this league and fail to get up or in the premiership where we'll be a bottom 6 team if we get up and mccoist remains in charge. It's time to speculate to accumulate
  11. Shouldn't this thread title be "everything other than Ally being blamed for Ally's failings" Honestly to never once hold your hands up and take accountability of your decisions, your actions before and during the game is just disgraceful. It doesn't just mean he is a terrible manager in that respect but also it reflects so badly on the man himself, any decent person would hold their hands up and if it kept happening resign. Show a bit of decency and respect for the fans you claim to represent and stop patronising us with cliches. Please, please, please stop damaging the club and what is left of your status
  12. Hutton??? We'd be better giving Murdoch a go, Hutton shouldn't have had a renewal. I also think shiels on the wing would be rather ineffective. My team (would never happen) Simonsen Sinnamon, Halkett, McGregor, Smith Aird, Murdoch, Law, Templeton Clark, Miller We'll see no youth in place of absentees, we'll see players out of position and either daly or Boyd getting the ball pumped up to them.......I have never wanted Rangers to lose in my life and whilst I don't want to start the silver lining on a doing by cowdenbeath might be the sacking of the dud.....he still wouldn't walk even if we lost 5-0 on Saturday, it would be because the wind was blowing the wrong direction.
  13. We all know the position we are in. Unless someone stumps up the cash we are stuck with him. I'm thinking a drubbing off Celtic might be the only thing that makes him walk.....I'd be mortified of last night and to save face I'd resign. Everything seems to point to the compensation so back to my original point, we need someone (MA) to stump up enough money to get the folded arm brigade out on the basis that we'd lose less in the long run in doing so (assuming we don't get another dud in charge).
  14. Because he hasn't got a clue. My team just now would see Mohsni and McCulloch dropped wig mcgregor and zaliukas as central pairing, Wallace at left back and the lad sinnamon at right back, heard he did well for Scotland under 19s the other week. He'd be more motivated to prove himself than the dirge we seem to play. He won't set the heather alike but he'd have a hunger that sadly lacks in the team. Midfield would have Macleod and law in the centre. Then a fluid 3 behind Clark of templeton, aird and get McKay back from raith. Shields would also fit in better with that set up, those 3 can run beyond Clark, it's got pace and threat which is better than playing Macleod on the wing in favour of black in the centre. Also I'd get Crawford back from Morton and drop black. Let's face it though mccoist will stick with the same team breeding yet more complacency and the same long ball that no one wants to see and we don't do well anyway. Dreading the league cup semi, we should be looking forward to that and instead we are wondering just how many goals we are going to lose.
  15. This quote from McCoist really took the biscuit, he is the very definition of hypocrisy. "It's about professionalism - taking responsibility to do your job." When of when have you ever done this in the last 3 years???? I Can't remember him taking responsibility for any defeat he always has an excuse. Yes the players are accountable for throwing away the lead but when he lost the first goal did you change anything, tear into your players from the sidelines or did you fold your arms and do nothing? If you say you love the club prove it......just leave and we'll call it even. Stay for a compo payout and you won't be welcome back to the club you say you love. Get a grip and man up, accept you have tried but it's time to do what your mate McCall did. Be the bigger man and do what is right.
  16. I still believe McKay on left, Aird on right and Temps beyond main striker. Macleod and law as central midfielders
  17. Just think what he'd be like if he was played through the middle
  18. Anyone who thinks the signings in the summer transfer window of 2012 were the result of careful consideration is off their rocker. Mccoist needed numbers and didn't want to rely on the guys at the club especially those in the youth teams. Perhaps faure was being talked up but do I think mccoist didn't know anything about him.
  19. I'm all for giving youth a chance but it needs to be done correctly through years of careful management and increasing exposure to the first team. So to answer your question no I wouldnt be happy with that line up regardless of the result. The problem I have with McCoist is the youth players are seen as a last resort and preferred to pay for players he doesn't know how to use or motivate correctly. As far as I see it we've lost the opportunity to blood more than 3/4 young players in a game now, that was in div 3 but he had to make the young players first team players the next year. I agree as well that only a handful would make the grade, the point being we'd be better off than we are now financially.
  20. With 11 Scotland U19s caps under his belt and our state of affairs at right back as well as selection headache at left back this weekend, I'd like to see the lad given a shot with mcgregor and mcculloch in the centre and Wallace on the left unless not fit. I think it's a good opportunity but we'll no doubt see faure at RB and foster at LB.
  21. I know they are SPFL Premiership opposition so losing based on current leagues wouldn't be considered a shock result but on paper we should win this game and progress. If we lose do you think it will result in the sacking of McCoist? (Since it's clear he won't resign) Sadly I believe the board lack the cojones and funds to do so, but surely the position will be untenable.
  22. The reason "our" baffling decisions have been made is because they aren't actually our decisions, they are the decisions of the man who seems oblivious to the long term damage he is doing to the club by not walking away. Barrie McKay for me is the glaring mistake, he has pace and energy, play him and aird down the flanks with Macleod and law in the middle and templeton in his favoured position off the main striker and I think you've got a dangerous midfield.......naw lets play Macleod on the right and Steve smith on the left.
  23. Thanks for that....... I'd bin the lot of them apart from Miller perhaps in a coaching role and still registered as a player just in case. It may well happen because if we don't get promoted we can't afford to keep them.....we can't anyway but we can't do anything about it until the summer. Probably around 50k a week savings at least, equating to 2.5m per year
  24. I remember Mohsni having a 2 year deal and thinking we'd ditch him before the SPFL Premiership. I still think this should happen but was wondering who else is out of contract this year? - Hutton - release - Boyd - release - Daly - release - Miller? - coach/player 1 year deal - Black? - release
