Wrong a) Playing an unfit Ferguson for more than 45 - 60 minutes max. (Nothing I saw at yesterdays game said he was off the pace at the end, n more so than Mendezs anyway - AND he has only been in for 2 games so the inconsistentcy cant all be down to him, our midfield at Hamilton and St. Mirren lacked drive under pressure) b) Playing with a different left mid every game nearly. (Novo, Lafferty, Adam - McCulloch or Beasley next vs Aberdeen?) (Agreed this is a problem area but I would also say in the last 5 games we have created a lot of chances and in general from both sides of the field - I would give Charlie Adam a run at it until Beasley is fit). c) No wingers or width. (We are creating a lot of chances so this is not causing us any problems) d) Players playing out of position. (.. none whom have let us down!) e) Ferguson and Mendes too similar in style? (They have only played twice together - give it a chance - and again when playing together yesterday I saw thenm working well at times and this will get better with games) f) No bite in midfield since Thomson got injured. (2 games - and you seem to forget the games at Hamilton and St. Mirren where we absolutely struggled and that was with Thomson - Barry is no shrinking violet when it comes to tackling) g) Miller missing sitters- good otherwise. (Always been an issue - but he has contributed 6 goals this season and a lot more assists - including 2 yestreday - gives a great out ball and works well with Boyd) h) Very poor use of substitutes both in personnel and regarding timing. (Slower than other managers to make substitutions BUT not nessesarrily a bad thing however the one area where I wish he was a it more proactive). Also people on the thread say where do the goals come from if Boyd is out - Velika, Lafferty, Novo, JCD ? I think the inconsistency comes from the fact that we have changed personell and formation from last season and it takes time to blend - contra to that we have been playing some great football over this period, much more attractive than last season, and none of the games (Except St Mirren away) should we have droppped points. (Aberdeen and Motherwell a different linesman and we retrieve 4 points - Dundee United our defence had a shocker) - consistency is coming! have a bit (more) patience and fiath. agreed. i think the second half of the season will see us getting on to a really good game and feel we will beat them each time we meet.
