  1. You don't have to look too far back to find a time when we wouldn't have recovered from a team equalising. I hope (and believe) this is a sign of a long term, positive change. In any case, well done the mighty 'Gers!
  2. I believe that's that key point right there. It's both unreasonable and unfair to compare our current situation with those of previous eras. But as we returned from those other terrible periods we'll do the same (eventually) with this one too. And it'll be great.
  3. Not to detract from the current (and rightfully more important) topics concerning the club, but do you remember Laudrup's debut? More specifically, the way he ran out of defence en route to providing the winner? Different class. Edit: actually, 'different class' is perhaps as much an understatement as it's possible to make...
  4. The problem is that the type of person who can make 100 million is by default unlikely to be easily parted from part of it at the best of times, not to mention for emotional reasons. So someone such as the Easdales, no. However a "...We need bailed out by a rich Ranger who does not want anything in return" yes, definitely. I accept it's easy to sit posting on a forum and say "If I'd the money I'd bail us out" and another to actually go through with it. Still, how many constants have there been in life worth preserving and giving opportunity to recover and grow? (That's one of those rhetorical questions, BTW...) If you're a Rangers man (or woman) and you've taken care of your family, then look to both the past and the present of the club, and further become a part of it.
  5. It's been a grind. Inch by inch wearing everyone and everything down; the squad, the support, and even the stadium. But I believe it'll pass.
  6. Don't get many second chances in life, especially with something like this. Maybe it's time to take as much good from a bad situation as possible.
  7. I don't believe in luck, but as the saying goes 'third time lucky?' - we had two chances before to get rid of the deadwood and rebuild the team (and the whole setup) from scratch; with PLG and then when the bastards sent us down the divisions. Maybe this is the right time to finally do it?
  8. Of course. It'll pass. And that's one of the reasons whenever we've been having a good time (trebles with Greig and DJ and wee Doddie) or the team with Albertz and Laudrup and Gazza I've always made sure I'm appreciating it. In a way it makes the absolute crap were exposed to right now even worse, but like someone has said earlier in this thread it'll get better and when it does it'll be great.
  9. That was it, as casual as you like - a soft wee pass to roll it in front of Nade... I know he was on the deck, but you still do all you can to get the ball away.
  10. Exactly - everything so slow and telegraphed, giving the opposition plenty of time to get back and mark.
  11. That's the first name that came to my mind too. Whether or not he's the best option is another question, however he's perhaps the most obvious one.
  12. Short answer: yes. Longer answer: '1872'. We'll always be around (regardless of the wishes and actions of others) and after what we've been through over the last few years can and will only go from strength to strength.
