All my Liverpool supporting boys went home yesterday to watch their team thrash Barcelona on telly and left me up here to go to the game myself. How we (they) laughed at the results last night Accies at home? And we didn't beat them? Why the fuck did MOH and Forrester not start? Look at the impact they made. When did our young dynamic passing starting eleven change into a slow old sloppy passing team of players who all seem to be 2 yards off the pace? We needed some older experience in the team but Hill, Barton, Kranjcar and Miller together is too much. We won't be going for 55 til we go back to letting our young hungry boys back in the team. End of. Hate slagging my team but MW this time got it very wrong. Here's to midweek.

Score was exactly what I predicted and I think it was a blessing as too many people were thinking we were invincible after a few victories over poor opposition. Good reminder that our defence is still as piss poor as last year and our attacking as easily read as last year while we still have time to get some loan deals and/or signings together. On a plus side nothing we will face this year should be of this standard and the team we have for the money we have paid is still going to be great to watch. Imo we would have been fucked without Kenny the last 2-3 months of last season. Yes he is old but he is still covering so much ground, not just as a striker but everywhere and reads the game well. He hasn't been great yet this season and I don't really expect many starts but I would take him above a few of the other younger players in our team. Don't write him off because I really believe he will prove you wrong again when it counts.

I have been so excited by the quality of play and the new signings so far. They have made some of last seasons heroes look very average and unlikely to get many games and I can't wait til the league starts and everyone has to fight for their shirt. BUT (and I will probably get slated for being negative) we still waste far too many chances with the final ball and it frustrates the hell out of me. Victories against these teams we have played so far should be gimmes. They really should have been landslides tbh. Roll on 6th August. Can't wait

Nope . My view is that you take the season a week at a time and play whoever is in form . Not make a decision on day one of the season .

The gaffer says most will get a starting place over these few cup games and it's being seen almost as pre season friendlies. He wasn't at his best but many weren't. Even before yesterday I assumed he would be more of a squad player this year but you can't rule out a player on the basis of one early game after how he performed at the end of last season. Would you expect your Mrs to kick you out after one bad night session???
