  1. Dessers touch gives me bad flashbacks to Kenny Miller's first touch 🤣
  2. I love that we have a little bit of shithousery with Cantwell and Lammers. We've never played that game well.
  3. The movement all over the park is much better. Souttar coming forward and Cantwell dropping in created some space and cover for Borna. Much smarter play from us.
  4. Very early days, but he doesn't seem to have much about him. Maybe still needs to build up fitness. Danilo is going to do well for us i feel.
  5. Dessers needs to start looking forward with his passing though.
  6. Me just now hearing that Liam arsehole on BBC commentary bringing up "worst record ever" about two seconds after coming on.
  7. Looks like two up top, positive looking line up. Cantwell back, Danilo starting, looks more forward thinking
  8. I always try and look at things as objectively as possible and don't get caught up in hysteria if i can help it. The defeat against Kilmarnock was awful, but the worst pary was the performance and the lack of any urgency both on the pitch and on the sidelines in terms of making positive changes - we ran out of ideas very quickly. If we lost that game having had goals disallowed, we had hit the post 3 times and bombarded Kilmarnock but just couldn't get the ball in the net i'd be a little more accepting and be able to add a rationale to it, but everything from the lineup, tactics, subs and post match comments and attitude give a bit of cause for concern.
  9. Away from home against a tough opponent i'd kind of be ok with that, but playing at home no chance.
  10. If the thinking is "play same system with better players", then i worry about the season ahead.
  11. If we're getting £4m for Sakala we are right to take it, especially if he isn't going to be a huge part of Beale's plans. It's what we need to do in terms of balancing the books and generating income for the next batch of players. It's then relying on the scouting team to identify quality to replace him. I like the wee man and sad to see him go, but its what we did so poorly in the past and what we need to do to progress.
  12. I just read that as if a Scouser was saying it. Although to be fair, thats how most of the words they say come out 🤣
  13. I'm reading that we are too narrow, the three strikers are on top of each other, and the passages of play all seem to go through Tav, Goldson and Lundstram, which is worrying.
  14. It's fairly simple spacial awareness as well. Our forward 3 were all too static with no fluidity, movement or thought of how to create space for runners.
  15. I'd have just taken it. Nonsense waiting on one player to amble over when it disrupts any advantage we could gain
  16. Gio at least had a Scottish Cup win and a European final the previous season to fall back on as a form of collateral. Beale doesn't have that kudos yet, so definitely shouldn't be afforded as long.
  17. This doesn't feel like your usual two or three posters who have bi-polar opinions depending which way the wind blows though. First opening day defeat in 25 years is going to get a few reactions too. Beale isn't just in the job. He's been here 8 months, and while his results have (in the league) been excellent, the cup games haven't been good at all. In the 8 months we haven't adapted a distinct style of play. He went back to the type of football we played under Gerrard, and it worked to a point because he had a lot of players still here who were used to that system, and even then we relied a few times on individual bits of magic - we rarely blew teams away, although i argued at the time its a results business. Now we don't have a cohesive unit, and the first result hasn't gone our way. The worst part, and the part that rings alarm bells for me is that there were very few positives to take from the performance. We have a good goalkeeper, but the same mistakes and same lack of vision to change a game still persist regardless of the personel. So, it's one defeat after a series of pretty turgid performances and people are rightly concerned, although i don't think anyone (or at least many) are saying get him out now, rather that there are warning signs we've all seen before and we know how this plays out. Lots of work for Beale to do, and he needs to get a fair number of results together to quell any fears.
  18. I can't see it ending well for Beale tbh. We have no real identity, the football is poor, there appears to be little to no effort coming from some of the new signings, the tactics aren't fluid enough, we don't change how we play mid game if it isn't going our way, etc. Yes, i get the new player argument and that maybe holds water pre-season to a point, but Beale had stated he wanted these players in early in order to gel the team together. The concerns i have is that usually when you see a new team coming together you see flashes of how they will play, bits of brilliance that make you think yep, i can see where we're going and it'll take time, but i didn't see any of that, and that worries me. I do think the players are good enough, i'm not entirely sure Beale can be the man to get the ability showing from the players.
