  1. Murty isn't the long term option. He's only in place because king and the board blew it hiring Pedro and then blew it again replacing him. We need a manager who wins period. Our main priority is stopping 10.
  2. Don't think Walter is too old. The great man doesn't have anything left to prove.
  3. I don't think he would leave killie until the end of the season Again but it's trusting this board to make the approach. I still feel they are hoping murty wins the scottish cup to justify giving him another season.
  4. How would people feel about Jon Mclaughlin at Hearts? He's out of contract in the summer. 12 clean sheets this season.
  5. We defiantly need a new No 1 IMO. Wes is a good shot stopper but his positioning is awful. He always seem to get beat long range. McGregor isn't the answer but, we need a longer term option.
  6. It's a catch 22. Clarke could come in and win the Scottish cup and have huge momentum going into next season. Similar to when Mcleish came in and done the double before his 1st full season in charge. But as you and DBBTB said couple of bad results and it's Pedro all over again. Personally I think if he's offered the job now and accepts it. He will be telling the board he won't takeover until the summer.
  7. Clarke was Liverpool assistant manager at this point. He must have been really powerful to help them all the way from Mersey side.
  8. I think there's going to be a split in opinion no matter who we appoint as Rangers manager. In order to win a league title but you need to be able to adapt. There's going to be games where it's going against us and in game changes are needed. Murty doesn't seem to have the capability to make these changes be it due to inexperience or lack of ability . It's Warburton like in that he was 1 game plan and won't deviate from it. Now perhaps in time this changes but for me we can't wait for it to happen not when we are looking to stop 10.
  9. Agreed Brenda is not going anywhere I think we can all agree but that Murty won't be the way forward and we need a new manger. IMO I think clarke would turn us around and challenge for 55. Who would you go for in order to stop Brenda?
  10. What if Murty goes and does the same thing. Then it's he shouldn't have been in charge to begin with. There doing a back to back treble if we fail to beat them. A new manager 9 times out of 10 brings a boost in performance. Just because Pedro failed to get that last season doesn't mean Clarke would. Your right but in all likelihood a new manager will want to wait till season end before taking on the job. We can only inquire and see what happens.
  11. I would go for him now and see if he's interested. If he comes in now and wins both games. He builds a great platform to kick on from the start of next season.
  12. I agree we get tarred with this brush far too often. Hibs invade a pitch and we still get the blame for it.
  13. In fairness he's done well at West Brom and Reading. West Brom he led to a club record of league wins. Reading he took to a 1st fa cup semi-final in 88 years. There have been struggles the next season but seems to be the norm down in England. What's more important is what he's done here. In 5 months he's completely turned Killie round. His record vs old firm is impressive. 10 points from 4 x games. If our board isn't looking at him there's something wrong. Other names being mentioned will likely want big wages to come to scotland. Clarke is alreay here and I don't imagine he'll be on big wages at Killie.
  14. Warnock would be a great shout. I can't see us getting him with how well he is doing at Cardiff. They look to be heading up into the premiership next season. But he did come out with some great comments today about us. I think the issue is with managers like this is they will be looking for big wages to justify coming up north and a big transfer budget to implement their approach. I don't believe our board have the funds to provide either.
  15. It's been an outstanding 5 months but. He's been in charge the same time as Murty and with a weaker squad has won more points. He's been up against the old firm 4 x times and taken 10 points. No other manager in the league can say that. Clarke should be on the shortlist. Who else would you go for?
  16. It's the police. They seem to think it will end in riots after the game. I don't think it will be half as bad as it's being made out.
  17. Apparently league are having a nightmare with the split schedule this year. There's a possibility in the next old firm they could clinch the title against us.
  18. I'd be more worried he would bring back naismith
  19. We had the chance to get MPH but the board blew it. He released a statement saying he was interested in the Rangers job. Our board however went for mcinnes and got knocked back. I can't see MPH giving the board the time of day. Potter is a great shout. He's worked wonders at Östersunds. We would need to move quick but as he's been linked with English clubs.
  20. We are not going to get someone with a proven track record of winning trophies. Well not under this board anyway. We have to be realistic in the caliber of manager we can attract at the moment. Most managers with that kind of record are getting snapped up by teams down south. We did have the chance with michael preudhomme 8 trophies with 5 different clubs. He stated he was interested and our board went with after mcinnes instead. Brenda didn't have a trophy winning record yet look where he is now. I've never bought into this proven record of winning trophies. Pedro was hired having won trophies with Santos Laguna and look how well that went. It's just my opinion but I think Clarke can do well with us and give us a better chance of doing 55. Any manager is a gamble but when your seeing one getting results in our league with fewer resources we should be at least looking. Seeing Alex Rae now out saying the same
  21. Where is this clarke's a taig coming from ? Has anyone got a quote from him or a picture of him inside their stadium. All I've seen is a proposed move from st mirren to them that fell through. Murty rumored to have been a fan of them and Pedro was an ex scout for them. The end of the day Clarke with a limited squad and budget has got more points and more out of his team than murty has with a better squad and bigger budget. . We don't have the budget to outspend them to stop 10 so we need a manager who can get the most out of his squad. We're seeing Clarke do that in our league with players like boyd. Who with us could only manage 8 goals in 2 championship season last time. As for lemmon. Really. He's an ex player/manager of them and has openly spoken of his dislike of us. Has Clarke done this?
  22. Murty and Clarke have been in charge for the same period of time. Clarke has picked up 47 points. Murty has picked up 40 points. Clark has done this with a weaker sqaud.
  23. If he isn't I would be very surprised. Clarke and murty have been in the jobs roughly the same amount of time. With a weaker squad Clarke has taken more points. IMO with our squad and resources he could take us to the level we need to be to do 55 and stop 10.
