I'm feeling old lol. It was mccoist and laudrup for me He's doing really well at Barnsley right now. He's been a championship player of the month. I'd love to see him at ibrox. He would be a different option in attack and I think he would work well with either cummings or morloes

Steve Clarke Proved he is a Contender For the Rangers Job - TRO

Brenda not going anywhere for the foreseeable. I agree improving the keeper and the defence is a big priority. IMO we need the right manager first. -

I don't think he would leave killie until the end of the season Again but it's trusting this board to make the approach. I still feel they are hoping murty wins the scottish cup to justify giving him another season. -

It's a catch 22. Clarke could come in and win the Scottish cup and have huge momentum going into next season. Similar to when Mcleish came in and done the double before his 1st full season in charge. But as you and DBBTB said couple of bad results and it's Pedro all over again. Personally I think if he's offered the job now and accepts it. He will be telling the board he won't takeover until the summer. -

Clarke was Liverpool assistant manager at this point. He must have been really powerful to help them all the way from Mersey side. -

I think there's going to be a split in opinion no matter who we appoint as Rangers manager. In order to win a league title but you need to be able to adapt. There's going to be games where it's going against us and in game changes are needed. Murty doesn't seem to have the capability to make these changes be it due to inexperience or lack of ability . It's Warburton like in that he was 1 game plan and won't deviate from it. Now perhaps in time this changes but for me we can't wait for it to happen not when we are looking to stop 10. -

Agreed Brenda is not going anywhere I think we can all agree but that Murty won't be the way forward and we need a new manger. IMO I think clarke would turn us around and challenge for 55. Who would you go for in order to stop Brenda? -

What if Murty goes and does the same thing. Then it's he shouldn't have been in charge to begin with. There doing a back to back treble if we fail to beat them. A new manager 9 times out of 10 brings a boost in performance. Just because Pedro failed to get that last season doesn't mean Clarke would. Your right but in all likelihood a new manager will want to wait till season end before taking on the job. We can only inquire and see what happens. -

I would go for him now and see if he's interested. If he comes in now and wins both games. He builds a great platform to kick on from the start of next season. -
I agree we get tarred with this brush far too often. Hibs invade a pitch and we still get the blame for it.

In fairness he's done well at West Brom and Reading. West Brom he led to a club record of league wins. Reading he took to a 1st fa cup semi-final in 88 years. There have been struggles the next season but seems to be the norm down in England. What's more important is what he's done here. In 5 months he's completely turned Killie round. His record vs old firm is impressive. 10 points from 4 x games. If our board isn't looking at him there's something wrong. Other names being mentioned will likely want big wages to come to scotland. Clarke is alreay here and I don't imagine he'll be on big wages at Killie. -

Warnock would be a great shout. I can't see us getting him with how well he is doing at Cardiff. They look to be heading up into the premiership next season. But he did come out with some great comments today about us. I think the issue is with managers like this is they will be looking for big wages to justify coming up north and a big transfer budget to implement their approach. I don't believe our board have the funds to provide either. -

It's been an outstanding 5 months but. He's been in charge the same time as Murty and with a weaker squad has won more points. He's been up against the old firm 4 x times and taken 10 points. No other manager in the league can say that. Clarke should be on the shortlist. Who else would you go for? -
It's the police. They seem to think it will end in riots after the game. I don't think it will be half as bad as it's being made out.

Apparently league are having a nightmare with the split schedule this year. There's a possibility in the next old firm they could clinch the title against us.

I'd be more worried he would bring back naismith

We had the chance to get MPH but the board blew it. He released a statement saying he was interested in the Rangers job. Our board however went for mcinnes and got knocked back. I can't see MPH giving the board the time of day. Potter is a great shout. He's worked wonders at Östersunds. We would need to move quick but as he's been linked with English clubs.
