Fuck me, another of these threads. Doesnt anyone grasp the concept of PR?

Add to that, no doubt many of these guys played in the same international side, hardly surprising if they become friendly? Then again, I take it proddies cant be friends with catholics? Is that where this is going?

Hey matey, been a while, you keeping well?

With all due resepect, its his choice, simple as. People can be friendly with whoever they want, their choice, and, should have no bearing on us at all. The only way it becomes an issue, would be doing them favours, which, I dont think anyone believes would happen. Thing is as well, tims am sure are having the same conversation from the opposite side!

Our views of any player, will be skewed because of our feelings, whereas, people that know the person, may have a different view.

The PR comment is true though, how can McCoist (and by default Rangers), to the general public, look anything BUT good when things like this are printed?

Some people just need to find something to moan about.

Exactly. I actually think that Ally seems to at least these days be above all the old firm rivalry bitterness. Good fucking on him I say, he's clearly nowhere near as angry and frustrated as some people on here.

doh Whatever we may think as fans footballers/coaches are entitled to be friends with whoever they want.

Some people just need to find something to moan about.

Dont know if you are a younger member, but the older bears will know why Grant is scum, and how can you be pals with a scubag who hates everything about our club.

this player and that player going on about how they used to be friends, they used to go for drinks and have a laugh with each other, when in actual fact we all know you hate the bastards as much as us.

When will someone from our club grow some balls and tell them as it is, why would they want to talk about they dirty mhanky bead rattling f****n scumbags, because we fucken hate them.

If only...

I have many friends who are catholic and celtic supporters. I dont "hate" them...and never will.

Hate is a terrible burden that will eat you up and only leave you bitter, twisted and angry at everything.

Last I seen this was a free country where people can be friends and socialise with anyone they choose, regardless of religion or cultural differences....

....got to say it m8....its guys like you who are holding our club back and bring bad publicity upon us.

Dont you realise that, without "them" as you put it...we would not exist. both half of the old firm need each other. They make so much money out if it.

Also...read your history m8...when celtic were formed, protestants in glasgow suddenly needed a club to identify with as the irish catholics had one in Glasgow, in celtic and one in the east, hibs. In 1912 harland & wolf opened and brought over many men from ireland to work. looking for a club they chose us as we were nearby, Queens Park were the biggest club at the time.....it was around that time that we "adopted" the loyalist support...and grew since then. So, given that situation, without celtic forming in glasgow...we would not exist in the guise that we do today...out history and traditions would be completely different.

so go away you bitter, twisted little man and allow our club to move forward!

I may be a younger member but i'm aware of Grant being scum.

All i'm saying is if McCoist wants to be friends with him then it's his choice.

Why be friends with someone who deep down hates you, and everything you stand for.

The thing that annoys me about a lot of "Modern" Rangers fans is that they don't realise that the "Sellik" are laughing behind our backs when the club attempts to create a friendlier relationship with them. They hate everything our club stands for or at least what our great club once stood for before handwringers got in on things.

I agree, but, for years and years, it was always the case that some of the players were friends off the pitch. Countless comments like "we kicked lumps out of each other for 90 minutes then went for a beer". Its not a new thing, so, whats the uproar about now? Perhaps, as well, now they have aged, they have realised there are more important things in life.

People who get wound up about this, as spending too much time and effort thinking about timmy. Then again, every other thread seems to have something related to them in it.

Rangers were formed in 1872 and offically formed in 1873...Celt*c was formed in 1888...so Rangers were formed 16 years before Celt*c, so I don't understand what you mean from that sentence <cr> <cr>

Yes, we were formed long before them...but it was not until around about 1910 - 1912 that the protestants in glasgow wanted a club to call their own...as I stated in earlier post, catholics and irish catholics had celtic. In the east they had hibs.

So, looking for a club, they chose us as we were close to the shipyards and the irish loyalists who worked there, wanting their football, chose us as we were local to them. Its not too difficult to understand.

You are everything thats wrong with our support.

So, you believe that we should all be sash wearing, sectarian, orange order members?

Move into the 21st century m8, eh!!

I grew up and seen my Da full of hate. I was too when I was younger...bred into me if you like. But as I grew older I seen what it did to him...and I didnt want to end up like that.

When I was 24 I married a catholic. My Da never came to my wedding...never spoke to my wife....picked up his grandkids...as they were brought up catholic.

It was only before he died that he realised how petty and childish he had been....and deeply regretted all those years that he missed with his grandkids and my family.

We all have our beliefs, we all have our faiths....but why do we need to hate?

Please....somebody explain it to me?
