Here's a thought - maybe the ones who aren't signing don't agree that their is an "apparent lack of support given by the Lloyds Banking Group to our Club." Or maybe they don't want to sign a petition with phrasing such as "We appeal to your commercial good sense (to the extent that such still exists within your discredited, 43\% state-owned company)" in it? Just a thought.

I'll support our manager thanks. (to the extent that such still exists within your discredited, 43\% state-owned company) Which bit do you disagree with: - Lloyds aren't discredited; or - Lloyds aren't 43% state-owned? I don't really want to argue about it, I think it's generally a good initiative. Incidentally, I didn't say I didn't sign it. Anyway, to your points: Walter said the bank were "running the club." He didn't say they were showing a lack of support. Very different things, imo. Also, Walter thinks playing Lee McCulloch every week is a good idea, do you support him in that?; I don't disagree with either part of your second point, I didn't say I did. If you were writing a letter directly to Lloyds, would you phrase it like that? Maybe some people would prefer it phrased in a more constructive, professional manner? Slagging someone off in a letter to them isn't the way I would go about it, personally.

Dear Sir Lloyds, if you fine men could please find it in your strong, brilliant hearts to give money to our club, we'll all move our accounts to the mighty TSB. The credit crunch isn't your fault. boss 1,941
If you were writing a letter directly to Lloyds, would you phrase it like that? Yes. And it gets results. I remember writing to the UK Chairman of ntl in similar terms. My weeks old problem, that was apparently impossible to sort, was resolved the next day. Don't take any crap from these big businesses. But then I'm just a grumpy old man.
