Amazing atmosphere

Recommended Posts

I'd love it if we had an amazing atmosphere but the honest truth is that British fans are too lazy to stand for 90 minutes, jumping about, clapping, waving flags and so on.

If we had a country filled with healthy, energetic people this would be possible.

Lets not get carried away, we weren't doing the bouncy for 120minutes, these Greeks and Turks are jumping around for the whole game without breaks and everyone is involved.

There's no way we can compare to there level of support.

I hope one day that it will be possible but until there's a lot of change in this country I'm afraid that isn't going to happen, our support in the Cup Final deserves a lot of praise, the fans were brilliant as they have been this season but we can't compare to this other European countries.

It's a completely different culture. It's as simple as that.

It's what separates British fans from European fans. I mean, sure, if well organised and if safe-standing is introduced, the atmosphere will be improved greatly.

But never will British fans compare to those of Greece, Turkey or Germany.

I appreciate those who try. (tu)

Exactly, we just dont have the mentality in this country as they do in foreign ones. As much as I wish we did, its never going to be there :(

Next season should be much better though :D

The fans here in South America are pretty crazy, they will jump up and down for 90 minutes and sing during the whole game. I think that goes for all South American countries, not just your Brazils and Argentinas, its equaly crazy here in Peru.

Saying that, there is far more trouble in and out of the stadiums, more often than not the referee has to be escorted of the pitch by the riot police.

I was at a game and I even saw the home fans fighting amongst themselves at half time, and come the 2nd half all together as one supporting their team

This may surprise you but in actual fact most European supports model themselves on traditional British support. Back in the 60s and 70s the British fans were seen as being the fanatics of Europe and most other countries then followed that model of standing and singing in support of your team.

Nowadays of course the scenario has been reversed and only a massive ground swell of support for change in this country will ever make a difference.

Even the Ultra movement in Europe was in part influenced by a fasciniation of the British casual scene.

Awww so i cant just sit there and watch my team in peace? All because you lunatics want to jump around like a bunch of neds! I suppose you enjoy going to the game with your buckie and you socks tucked into your tackies with rockports on?

You guys are torture, if you want to sing and dance then join the fucking theartre.

Not to mention the South Americans.

Personally I think seating is the biggest problem. It's not that sitting stops you singing but in the old days people who wanted to sing and jump about could congregate.

well thats just whats wrong with the Rangers support. Until all the rules and Regulations and all this health in Safety is slackened and a Safe standing section is introduced to Ibrox the atmosphere will always be the same. Yes the UB moving Will make a big difference next year and all the best to both groups trying to make the atmosphere better.

As for the British Ultra scene it could be possible

Stanley and FCUM have done it but they are in lower leagues in England and the Health and Safety isnt what its like in Bigger stadiums ( But I might be wrong Stanley have had problems this season with Health and Safety )

Fanatics ( Crystal Palace ) Have showed it could happen in bigger stadiums have a look at some of there vids and see for yourselfs but a lot of British clubs have tryed to bring this into there stands.

It wont happen unless more people get involved. I dont expect the whole stadium to be rocking but i would like to see at least the Broomloan front all standing and making lots of noise.

I watched some Crystal Palace videos on youtube they seem to be pretty much a bigger version of us in BF5

Yeah I just used Crystal Palace as a good example getting the whole of Ibrox to sing if not impossible its nearing it.

With TBO and UB in one stand it should create the numbers that people around want to stand up and be counted.

There is no doubt TBO and UB try there best and I think everything both groups do are great so lets just hope Broomloan front is all bouncing next season ;)
