Rangers Let 4 Players Go :( Can It Get Any Worse?

Recommended Posts

Stafford Rangers manager Greg Clowes has told four of last season’s playing squad that they have no future at Marston Road.

Clowes welcomes the players back for his first pre-season training session as Rangers boss tomorrow night but Marco Adaggio, Tyree Clarke, Martyn Naylor and Tom Moss will not be among them.

Mark Dudley is also not returning although that is not an on-the-field issue, as the defender is looking for a club closer to his home in Doncaster.

Adaggio, Clarke and Naylor were all first-team regulars in the Rangers team that were relegated from the Blue Square North last season but do not fit into the manager’s plans, while Moss had already drifted away from the club at the back end of the campaign.

In fact, only defender Grant Goodhead and second choice goalkeeper Tom Turner are definitely staying at Marston Road although a verbal agreement has been reached with last season’s No 1, Lee Evans.

Clowes did touch base with Dudley about a potential return to Marston Road but couldn’t reach an agreement.

The manager said: “The impression I got from Mark is that, with the money he was getting at Stafford, it wouldn’t cover him with his travel costs.

“Rightly so, he could probably get himself a club up there, who play at a very good level with less travelling.

“Doncaster to Stafford is a long way for a pro, never mind a semi-pro.”

The Rangers boss has had no contact with wide player Fabrice Kasiama and utility man Alex Forde, but wants to speak to both players.
