simplythebest 11,453
If we had done our job at Ibrox it wouldnt have mattered what happened last night sendings offs, 9 men and a draw would have had us through, last night we were better than we were with 11 men at Ibrox, we lost it at home imo. We have been getting away with so much in recent years our luck was always going to run out again, there comes a time when we have to stop being lucky and start being good!iI acknowledged there's wider issues that need sorting out, but you surely must also acknowledge that if Bougherra and Whittaker has kept their cool then we'd have gotten away with the first leg, and that would have done a world of good. It would have left everyone on a high after also getting the three points against St Johnstone at the weekend, and we could have had all focus on getting players in for the Inverness game and the next round. Instead we're all left demoralised, knowing Champions League revenue is down the pan, leaving any potential signings knowing they'll be no CL football this season, waiting for the draw in the Europa League which feels like scant consolation this moment in time and having to wait over a week till the next competitive game to bounce back in. There was always going to be work to do even if we did win last night, but the fact we've lost has made the job even harder, and the blame cannot be put on the first leg considering how great a chance we clearly had of turning it around, only to be let down by indiscipline. Yes we could have won but at home we should have won, it was a dreadful match and result which after so many recent poor Euro results should have been a lesson learnt but it wasnt, again. Seems like we never learn, we make the same mistakes time and time again especially in Europe.
