kp501 6
murray is to blame for this mess 100%, but he did give us the chance of seeing greats like Gazza, Laudrup, Gio VB, Gattuso, Prso and many more... so my qustion is, Would you have rather we kept within our financial limits with player signings and saved today from happening OR are you happy that we had some of the worlds best players play for our great club??? whytes3 254
Murray gave us fuck all.His credit rating meant the bank gave us the money to buy these players...not him. Now we are paying the price for it.Murray deserves no credit
RFC55 110,178
It had fuck all to do with the 9 in a row era. It was Advocaat's era that has us like this

Broxi 11,680
I never saw a single one of them play and I still love Rangers!People complain about missing the good old days of Rangers and when we were actually a good European team, well I never saw any of that. disgruntled_bear 157
How many times, Gascoigne, Laudrup and Gattuso have nothing to do with the mess were in the now.
BritishBear 34
No.I got to see all the ones you mentioned and Albertz, absolutely loved the guy. Add in being at the Parma game, I've yet to hear noise like that again at Ibrox. Memories that I will take to the grave.

kp501 6
Does anybody know which players used EBTs for certain?
Turnberry18 3,204
When Walter Smith sat down with Paul Gascoigne, prior to signing him, he didn't say, "let me tell you about David Murray." He spoke about Rangers; it was Rangers Paul Gascoigne signed for. When Terry Butcher was an Ipswich Town player he thought Ibrox looked like a Cathedral: it doesn't say David Murray on that fine exterior, it says Rangers FC.When Dado Prso played with Monaco and he sat on that subs bench, it wasn't David Murray's words that impressed him; but that European night atmosphere provided by the greatest fans in the world. So no, my gratitude to Sir David Murray is zilch. Without Rangers, Sir David Murray would not have been Sir David Murray. He will be acknowledged for ignominy; that is all. The man who took a great institution to the brink of its existence in the most shameless fashion.
nvager 498
If he brought players in he should have paid the necessary taxes and benefits. Or they should have.FFS Bain and that other ex chairman were up to their eyes in the EBT scheme. They benefited and now Bain is suing the club!
