Little and Healy will they be back?

Recommended Posts

at this time we need as many bodies as possible znd the experience that the likes of healy and indeed jig will be invaluable to the younger pkayers who will now be thrown in at the deep end

for that reason alone i hooe healy returns

Shall we just start signing up random fans as well then? It is not about numbers, it must be about quality, no matter what level we are at as a club or division we are in, we have standards, we are Rangers.

Are you sure? I didn't see his name mentioned when all the lads turned up on Thursday.

They mentioned him...........Kerkar.......and the other young Ulster boy that appeared a couple of times, we signed him from Man City, the three are out of contracts but turned up or asked to turn up.

They mentioned him...........Kerkar.......and the other young Ulster boy that appeared a couple of times, we signed him from Man City, the three are out of contracts but turned up or asked to turn up.

THIRTEEN players reported to Murray Park for the first day of pre-season training with Rangers' this morning.

However, three of those players are out of contract and their future is unclear under Charles Green's newco club.

Experienced trio Lee McCulloch, Kirk Broadfoot and Lee Wallace plus goalkeepers Neil Alexander and Scott Gallacher are among those to have turned up.

Murray Park graduates Kyle Hutton, Ross Perry, Kal Naismith, Darren Cole and Kane Hemmings are also confirmed attendees.

Free agents Andrew Mitchell, Salim Kerkar, Chris Hegarty - whose contracts expired at the end of the season - also reported for fitness tests and their immediate future remains unclear.

Andrew Little, who is also out of contract, is not among the 12.

The club said Dorin Goian and Alejandro Bedoya were not due back today while Maurice Edu and Carlos Bocanegra were also given extra time off after playing for the United States in World Cup qualifiers.

Ten players - including captain Steven Davis and international stars Allan McGregor, Steven Naismith and Steven Whittaker - have objected to a transfer from soon-to-be-liquidated Rangers to the newco club, with John Fleck and Juan Manuel Ortiz joining those ranks yesterday.

Rhys McCabe, Sone Aluko, Kyle Lafferty and Jamie Ness also objected to the transfer of their contracts.

PFA Scotland believes they are free agents and have asked the football authorities to release their registration from Rangers, but Green has vowed to seek compensation.

Green bought the assets of Rangers for £5.5million two weeks ago but his club's future is unclear, with SPL clubs set to vote against admitting them to the top flight and opposition growing among Scottish Football League clubs over a deal to put them in the First Division.

RANGERS' pre-season is underway and 13 senior squad members have reported for the first day of training this morning.

Lee McCulloch - a likely contender to be named club captain by manager Ally McCoist - was amongst the first to arrive at the club's training ground at Auchenhowie at 9am.

And he was quickly joined by Kyle Hutton, Ross Perry, Kal Naismith and reserve goalkeeper Scott Gallacher.

Scotland defender Lee Wallace, who confirmed his commitment to the club earlier this week, joined the group as well.

And goalie Neil Alexander also showed up along with Kirk Broadfoot and fit-again striker Kane Hemmings.

Darren Cole is in the squad which is currently going through fitness tests after his loan spell at Partick Thistle last season.

And out-of-contract players Salim Kerkar, Chris Hegarty and Andy Mitchell are there too along with a selection of youths as they look to win new deals with the Light Blues.

Despite a turbulent last few weeks for everyone connected with the club, spirits were high as head of sports science Adam Owen put their players through their paces.
