Apparently he was being a dick in the post-match press conference. Certainly feeling the pressure.

The media trying to put words in his mouth would have nothing to do with it...

He knows it was a poor result but the club have backed him and said so only a few days ago so it must be rather annoying to be asked the same silly questions only days later.

The journalists who were there said they were perfectly reasonable questions and it was just petulant. And obviously he's going to be asked about his future, they just got put out of another cup competition by a lower-league side.

Do they want him to be a jolly fella full of the craic when he's just fresh from giving the team a mouthful?

The journos know exactly what they are doing and they are the same people who write about managers not being given enough time ect ect yet when it comes to these post match interviews they just love bringing up things like his future when it was laid out clearly that he'd be manager no matter what happens this season.

I'm no fan of Villa or Lambert but its the media in England just love to create something then bitch about it when or if the club take action.

He was brought in as a long term project, sacking him will do nothing to help Villa.

Yes things can change but very rarely does a chairman come out and say even if they are relegated that he would remain in charge.

They have been down this route before and each time they have failed with new managers, they see PL as a manager who within his own time as someone who will build them into a decent football team.

They can't keep on asking manager after manager like say Chelsea, stability is key for them.

Is relegation part of that? Is their squad really so terrible that it's inevitable? I don't believe so.

This season alone shows how difficult it is to come straight back up.

They IMO they won't go down because they do have good players but if they did then it wouldn't be all doom and gloom.

Villa had problems way before PL was in charge and sooner or later they are going to have to back a manager.

Would it not? It certainly could be. For every Newcastle or West Ham coming straight back up there's a Leeds or a Charlton who after years in the top flight actually ended up in the third tier for periods and still aren't back yet.

Sure give him the season, backing him after a relegation caused by his full season in charge would seem very strange though. His resources can't be worse than the Norwich team he kept up.

He doesn't have to be full of the craic, but he also doesn't have to be a tosser. Refusing to answer questions to the local media won't help anyone and Villa's fans deserve answers about why their team is so awful.

I posted this elsewhere.

John ruddy iirc done a bit with FF and said that Chris Houghton takes to deal with the training and players personally. He said lambert relied on his coaching staff for that. Maybe the villa players ain't reacting to that?
