BRITNEY IS NOT FEELING IT 8,293
Green Meets Dubai FansWRITTEN BY ANDREW DICKSONCHARLES GREEN met with Rangers supporters in Dubai yesterday as he discussed the club’s plans ahead of his trip to the European Clubs Association’s annual conference tomorrow and Wednesday. The Light Blues chief executive flew out of the UK in the hours after the 3-0 Scottish Cup defeat to Dundee United at Tannadice to attend the Q&A session with fans.He spent three hours with around 70 members of the Dubai Loyal as he responded to a variety of queries about the direction in which Gers are heading.Ex-pats based in places such as Abu Dhabi and Bahrain flew in to make sure they were there and it was a productive event.Green has now moved on to Qatar for that ECA gathering and he will spend two days there with head of football administration Andrew Dickson. From there, the Yorkshireman will move on to Perth in Australia where he will meet up with fans’ liaison officer Jim Hannah for a similar meeting of supporters there on Thursday.Green will also visit fans in Melbourne and Sydney at the end of the week before returning home via Dubai for an evening talking to the Lewis and Harris RSC in Stornoway on February 14.Hannah said: “Charles was well received by the supporters who attended in Dubai and he touched on a lot of the things spoken about at recent fans’ meetings.“The Dubai Loyal’s members were over the moon that he came to see them. They didn’t hold back with their questions and they got some very honest answers too so it was a good discussion.“Dubai is a place Charles knows well – he has spent a lot of time there opening cancer research clinics and he knows the area inside out.“He has worked and stayed there and he recognises the enthusiasm there is for Rangers from fans who are in that part of the world so it was important for him to meet with them.”
