A lot of green eyes on show in this thread.

Do you think people are envious of the RST?

The problem I have is that they portray that they are talking on behalf of the rangers support, they should be making sure that people they have dealings with are made aware and made to publish that the view they give is only that of the members they represent and nothing else.

Some of the stuff they are saying there is fine but they are so discredited now no one has any real interest in them.

The fact that they are the go-to fans group when anyone in the media is looking for a quote says quite the opposite.

Renta quotes you mean, bit harsh but accurate, certain folk involved with the RST seem to be able to express an opinion on everything. It must be their psychic skills that lets them gauge membership opinion without asking.

The media use anyone, fair enough if they speak for you and your happy with them but they do not speak for me.

Picking out a bit of the news release in the OT relating to the investigation "........and fans will be briefed on the findings". Aside from the RST stuff I do not find that statement from the Chairman reassuring. It seems he is using RST as part of the programme to condition us not to expect to see the full and complete report that the expensive QC and Pinsents and Deloittes are producing. Well after all that Supporters have been through and are still having to endure that 'briefing' had better be of the highest quality. Unfotunately I don't presently see anyone on the Board who would deliver that briefing with the authority of a leader who really does have a grip and who would be utterly believable beyond any doubt to the point of bringing the stuff at the heart of the report to a conclusive end.

A briefing is not the same as full disclosure and in the absence of full disclosure the stability the Board craves risks being elusive. Why should independent investigators in professional services firms have full and complete access to the report and those who really own Rangers - the Supporters - not have full and complete access to the report?

They dont claim they do, they cant control how the media report stuff.

They are both used by the media, its not a competition.

Why dont you go to the time, effort and cost of setting up a supports organisation and then you can give some quotes to the media.

Nah, thought not, too much effort....

Not really after all the guy who kicked started this failed trust actually came to our office to look for advice setting it up and lo and behold he sought the advice of a sellic fan who happened to give that lot the advice required to set it up.

Wonder how long it will take ED?

The Chairman of the RST, Gordon Dinnie, and our new Secretary, Iain Paton, met with Rangers Chairman Malcolm Murray this morning. The meeting was informal and covered a range of general topics.

The RST put forward the view that the most immediate task facing the club was to establish confidence and clarity regarding the ownership and operation of the club following recent events surrounding Mr Charles Green and Mr Imran Ahmad and any potential involvement with Craig Whyte. The RST feels that the remit of the current internal review should be as broad-ranging as required and not centred on a few technical matters. The Chairman gave both RST representatives assurances that this was indeed the case. The investigation will be thorough and fans will be briefed on the findings.

Furthermore, the support needs clarity regarding the resources available to the management team for the coming period. We stressed that we are in favour of continuing to act honourably towards the SFL and to continue to play our way through the divisions.

The club Chairman has agreed to further meetings and we will afford our members the opportunity to submit questions for the agenda ahead of them. The Chairman's passion for the club impressed and it is obvious he is as fervent a supporter as the rest of us.

Why did you leave dungwalls name of the list at the meeting?

For someone who we are told has no real part in the rst.............wonder why his name was missing from the OP?

IBROX chairman Malcolm Murray has promised the independent probe into Charles Green's takeover of Rangers will be "rigorous".

Dingwall says Malcolm Murray wants things done 'by the book'

Murray met with fans of the Irn-Bru Third Division champions earlier on this week to discuss a wide range of off-field issues.

He has assured concerned supporters the report into the sale of the club to Green last May will be thorough.

Former owner Craig Whyte has made claims about his involvement in the deal which could, if proved to be true, have serious consequences.

Forensic investigators from accountants Deloitte and law firm Pinsent Masons have both been brought in, while Roy Martin QC has been appointed to oversee the process.

And Rangers Supporters' Trust spokesman Mark Dingwall revealed Light Blues chairman Murray has told fans he is confident that no stone will be left unturned during the ongoing investigation into the takeover.

Dingwall said: "We were keen to impress on the chairman that our members want all that happens at the club to be done properly.

"We want to make sure that proper governance at the club is not just in place, but is also being enforced.

"Whether that is in terms of co-operation with BDO (oldco liquidators) or the club's own internal investigation, we want to see them done rigorously.

"We were very happy with the assurances we received.

"The chairman said the investigation will go where it needs to go. It won't be constrained by having a narrow remit.

"He certainly seems to be keen everything is carried out properly and we are pleased he has certainly been diligent in appointing Pinsent Masons and a QC to oversee the investigation.

"From the feedback we have received, the investigation seems to be extremely thorough."

Dingwall added: "For the club to move on we need to have a feel-good factor off the pitch as much as on it – especially when you consider we are coming up to the second anniversary of Craig Whyte's takeover of the club.

"At this point we want everything cut and dried. There can be no outstanding questions needing to be answered for us to be able to move on."

Meanwhile, Murray has been urged to ensure that Rangers manager Ally McCoist knows exactly what his budget will be for next season as he looks to strengthen.

Dingwall said: "The chairman needs to get a grip of the football department so that nobody is in any doubt about the resources available to them or the task that lies ahead.

"The chairman exudes a quiet confidence and competence. Ultimately, he will be judged on results as much as anybody.

"He is keen that everything is done strictly by the book."

Nah, thought not, too much effort....

I know your a bit of a bell end but even you should know that the main function of the trust was not as a source of information for the press so what about the tendency to comment on behalf of members unilaterally?

As for another organisation surely theres enough self indulgent arseholes already without me joining the hunt for a blazer.
