Black and red socks 21
Black and red, no question, without them , especially in an era when we change kit every year, we'd just look like any other team that wear blue. They make us recognisable as Rangers!

familystandloyal 131
Rangers kit IS Blue top, white shorts and black/red socks. As someone posted earlier it sets us apart from all the other wee teams who wear blue shirts and white shorts.Fashion might dictate changes in collar, cuffs, trim, cut etc but the basic fundamentals should never change imho.I honestly can't quite grasp how any Rangers fan can think/believe otherwise. tannerall 25,935
Rangers traditional colours are blue shirts, white shorts, and socks that are black and red. No debate needed.

WilliamFyfe 1,438
The socks thing annoys me. Why release a home kit with Black socks but then not play in them.
bluechip 359
Black and Red for me all day long. If you saw the team of the early sixties wearing them you would get it. Light blue top, white shorts and red and black socks = The Rangers. IMO.
Doughnut001 7
It was advocaat who brought in the white socks wasn't it?I remember reading something about him changing the sock colours because he wanted a good contrast between the colour of a players boots and their socks because it made it easier for the ref to judge how bad fouls are and you get a slight advantage in the number of fouls given. So black and red are fine for me except that given the contrast benefit thing, it might encourage more players to wear the wanky psychedelic coloured boots.
