The level playing field theory.

Many chaps use the expression "level playing field" when discussing both our managerial and club matters, that is obviously a question that works both ways is it not.

If we were indeed on a level playing field as our present day opponents, how do posters think we would cope in all aspects.

We have not been on a level playing field as our opponents for decades.

Celt*c and ourselves have always been and always will be streets ahead of the rest.

What do you mean by 'level playing field'? That we have the same resources, cash, manager, players as Rath Rovers, or Rath Rovers have the same resources, cash, manager, players as us? In either case it would probably end up in a draw.

Yup and the leagues would be a lottery with no out and out favourite.

The second part of the OP is clear enough, if you don't want to answer it that is also fair enough, let's leave your contributions at that.

That's not even a sentence.

We would be 15 points ahead, if we had a level playing field. IE scouts, money and a board that drove for success on the park were all available and no threat of financial ruin.

Edit. Just reread. Thought you meant if we were back in the top league.

If we played the teams we do right now with comparative budgets etc then mccoist would be the difference and lead us to glory.

Good to see someone is able to address the thrust.

It clear that if all the teams in our current div has the same money and so on we would struggle. We are playing horrible football and are barely beating teams at the moment, that would suggest without the massive wage budget we have we would struggle.

Honest and succinct.

I would agree with this, the question would be why is that reasoning we come up with

Why would ally be the difference, or is it an assumption, cause if you look at it, we wouldn't have players like jig,Wallace or anyone like that. So ally would have to rely on playing against teams with just as good players would he not

The reason is very simple. The manager and management team we have are not very good. Now without getting into another Ally debate what a lot of people forget when they keep saying Ally is the man for the job is, he how do they know he is the man for the job or that he is a good manager? He has no exp as a manager. They base it on his playing for the club. It's no great shock of shame to admit he is just not a good manager.

Do you think the fact members of our board spend on advertising at Morton. That that then gives them an advantage over us since they do not spend on advertising at Rangers? So in that case are the Easdales giving Morton an advantage over us? :pipe:

If you can't find enough reasons to out someone on the facts as they are, do we then just make up hypotheticals to help our cause?

Guess so...

The managerial side would definitely be interesting to see on a level playing field.

To be honest it's not a well worded question - as worded if everything was even then every game would be a draw.

I think if the Op rephrased his attempt at Ally out baiting thread to - if McCoist swapped with say Jim Jeffries would he do better with Dumfermline and Jeffries do better with Rangers - I say no - the Ally oot brigade will say yes - we wil never know!
