FlippinEck 3,717
Coelho fails to impress at Celtic Coelho celebrates with Corinthians Celtic have dropped their interest in Brazilian Coelho after the defender spent time training in Scotland. The 24-year-old is nearing the end of a year-long loan from Corinthians to Brazil rivals Atletico Mineiro. However, he did not do enough to impress Celtic manager Gordon Strachan and is now back in his homeland. With Strachan adding Andreas Hinkel to his squad this month, it was always unlikely that he would move for another right-back. Coelho won his only cap for Brazil in 2003, when he was substitute in a defeat by Mexico in the Gold Cup final. He also helped Brazil win the Under-20 World Cup that season. Coelho was controversially banned for 120 days in September after elbowing Cruzeiro's Kerlon. The teenager was challenged during one of his trademark "seal dribbles" where he flicks the ball up and bounces it on his forehead as he beats opponents. Coelho's ban was reduced to five games following an appeal by Atletico. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...tic/7181857.stm What happened to their excellent scouting system? excoriate 0
raphael sh.. you know who..wasnt he brazilian with 1 cap? Was it not 5 or 6? Reason Brazil have so many single digit capped players is to boost their value and attract European interest. Also, the big name players tend not to want to play, or aren't released for, some of the diddy games in international games.
