Goal Statistics

Interesting statistics about our goals scored this season in the spl which may fuel more discussion about systems and the sparing use of our natural striker.

So far this season after 28 games we have scored 69 goals.

For the whole of 2006/07; we scored 61 goals.

For the whole of 2005/06; we scored 67 goals.

Do these statistics justify Walters system, or his judgement of Boyd as 4th or 5th striker?

Bearing in mind Celtic have already scored 5 more goals this season than their total for last season do these statistic mean nothing other than the rest of the teams are poorer?

I think these statistics are down to the fact gretna are in the spl. :D

However on a more serious note, these statistics are very interesting. With all our "anti football" this season as some people call it, 69 goals is quite remarkable.

Saturday was also our 100th goal in all comps in 50 games - a 2 goal a game average is championship form and as Walter said on Clyde on Saturday... "Not bad for a team that doesnt play with any forwards" :D

no -deduct his goals = 12 and you have 57 -i think it is more to do with the quality , teams like Gretna and St Mirren are probably as poor a sides to ever be in the SPL , IMO
