RANGERS fans were last night warned by Everton supporters to expect a nightmare in Florence. The Ibrox side are sure to take thousands of followers to Italy for their UEFA Cup semi-final second-leg tie against Fiorentina. The Goodison Park side, who were eliminated by the Italians in the last round, saw their fans' trip to Italy marred by the treatment meted out to them by the local authorities. Rangers supporters have been told to expect an alcohol ban and that they have no hope of getting tickets for the home end. Everton fan Martin Gabriel, a lawyer, said: "From the moment we arrived there were obstacles. "The trip was a major disappointment for everybody. We arrived in Florence by train, but as soon as we got to the station we were swooped on by the police who took our passports. They just assumed we were all hooligans. "Bars were closing and it was impossible to buy a ticket even though there were plenty of seats." The city of Florence ordered the vast majority of bars to close which meant there was nowhere for fans to watch the game. Another fan, Charlie Holden, said: "The Italian people were lovely but the authorities have not been sensible at all. "Away trips are usually fantastic but the police really spoiled this one." They talked there am problem with a local police but not so terrible as can seem. They name Nuremberg tour and Kharkov tour the best while Norway and Italy tours are worst. (bash the fruit to release the juice, extract with a syringe and fill up same way with alcohol of your choice!) Then claim we're all complete health freaks!
