bn72, how much would Gattuso cost and what does he command in wages?

if milan were looking to sell id say around 10m (milan bought him for 8m in 99) and he signed a contract extension last year which id imagine would have meant an increase in wages, but id say its quite a bit more than what our top earner is on.

unless gattuso is going for free or less than 5m, we have no chance of signing him(which we would all admit). especially when teams like bayern and real would be able to pay a big fee for him.

Yes. Gattuso is 30, Davis is 23. Davis has still to reach his peak and he offers more over-all.

yes and by the time davis reaches his peak he will most likely be playing in the premiership.

He might stay and if he did move on to the Premiership then we'd be able to cash in on him.

I just don't think Gattuso is the player he used to be, he's not what we need. We need creative attacking midfielders. We have Thomson who runs about all day, puts his boot in and passes the ball about.

Real Madrid have sounded out unsettled AC Milan midfielder Rino Gattuso about a move to Spain.

Tuttosport says Real made contact with Gattuso's minders this week after learning that the midfielder was considering his future at the San Siro.

Real see Gattuso as a direct replacement for Mahamadou Diarra and are preparing a £15 million offer for the ex-Rangers man.

There are reports in Italy that Real Madrid are preparing a summer bid for Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso.

The former Rangers man hasn’t been on top form recently and has been one of the main disappointments in the Rossoneri’s season of underachievement.

Press reports have suggested that the world champions are ready to ring the changes in pre-season and could replace many of the old guard, including Gattuso.

According to Tuttosport, Real Madrid are watching the situation with interest and could be willing to part with as much as £10m to bring Rino to the Bernabeu.

With Mahamadou Diarra looking to quit the Merengues, the Spanish champions are searching for a new defensive midfielder and could benefit from the addition of a pugnacious ball-winner.

While Gattuso has stressed his desire to lead Milan back to glory, the 30-year-old is also reportedly keen to ply his trade abroad once more after enjoying his adventure with Rangers in 1997-98.

There have been suggestions that Gattuso may prefer to relocate to England, with whispers that Tottenham and Newcastle are in the frame.

Nonetheless, it may be hard to persuade the Diavolo to part with a man who has become an integral figure at San Siro after playing over 250 games since joining from Salernitana in 1999.
