Jasper 179
Well to be honest, points 1,2 and 4 could refer to Zenit aswell.
likeacare 9
Well to be honest, points 1,2 and 4 could refer to Zenit aswell. True. Plus they can score loads of goals. BUT we have men who are dertemined to win; Walter, Baz, Weir, Cuellar to name a few. The best team tends to win, not the best group of players. We have the team in my opinion. JR 1,480
Zenit have reached the final playing some devastating counter-attacking football BUT they have yet to come up against a team that makes them do the running. I dont think they are defensively all that great, particularly at crosses & set pieces - and their keeper is pish. If we approach the game in the right manner & take the inevitable openings we get then we have every chance.

BUT....they might have found out about 'travel sickness tablets'!!!! lol Who cares, at the end of the day, we have faced far better opposition and defeated them, this is our year and no wee bunch of turds from Russia are going to ruin that!!!!! No Surrender!! :unionflag:

Emerson 2
It was their away results that got them into the final (4 scored away to Leverkusen, 1-1 draw at Bayern Munich) so that myth about them not being good travellers doesnt hold up too well. This is going to be tough and if we do win it it will be because we have earned it.
saintbob1969 1,557
Just put a muzzle on Cousin or it'll be ten men on eleven. Keep thinking Boyd is the man for the drama.

Cumbria_blue 51
Another reason is the last time they played in England they travelled to Goodison and got beat 1-0 against Everton. That night it was obvious that Zenit were a better team, but Everton (like us) played to their strengths. Everton got in their faces and defended really well that night. Everton's goal was even from a set-piece. So I think that proves that our style of play can beat these ruskies. I would also be amazed if Wattie hasn't got in touch with Davie Moyes regarding how to beat Zenit.
