TMWWBK 0
I see that the Evening Times still has us linked with Torosidis. I know that Smith watched him against Chelsea earlier on in the season and was impressed. Anyway, the guy's awesome. If we're serious about replacing Hutton with actual quality then Torosidis is our man. He's fast, skilful and just very exciting in general. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/displa...2298279.0.0.php Rangers have also been linked with Olympiakos defender Vassilis Torosidis, but he has been mentioned in connection with Bayern Munich and Juventus. We'll have to move quick to get him though. His value will rocket after the Euro's.

TMWWBK 0
I agree mate, top player. Any idea on prices? I had a look around the internet to try and find a price and the guys on the Juve forum reckon he would cost around €3 million.
OlegKuznetsov 10,816
Strachan heard that we were after Torosidis, so he's moved quickly to tie up a deal. Unfortunately, he misheard the name and only realised his mistake too late. So that means that Tori Amos has signed a 4 year deal at the piggery. Muff 245
Doubt we have any chance of landing Torosidis. He's is quality and would cost £3m at the very least. A lot of clubs will be after him.
DinViesel 399
Rangers and Newcastle face summer battle for Greek defender Torosidis Rangers also face competition from Newcastle United for Greek defender Vassilis Torosidis. The 22-year-old has caught the eye of Ibrox boss Walter Smith but Olympiakos want £4m before they will allow him to leave. Monaco, Marseille and Atletico Madrid are all interested but Kevin Keegan's cash-rich Newcastle will now be viewed as favourites to get Torosidis. The 11-times capped player will play alongside former Rangers defender Sotirios Kyrgiakos for the Greek national team at Euro 2008 this summer. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...-Torosidis.html

BlueSuedeSambas 53,904
We should go after Gyorgy Garics of Napoli. He's a good, skillful, young attacking full back.
JR 1,480
Torosidis & Cuellar at the back Unfortunately probably both playing for Newcastle
Mean_Gene_Okerlund 8
Excellent, glad to hear it. We should also take a look at his countryman Sokratis Papastathopoulos who is being linked with Aston Villa.
mark_ni 12
would be a decent signing, big strong player who would do well in the spl, if we were to sign him and shittu and keep cuellar we would have one hell of a big physical defence, cuellar is 6ft 3, torosidis is 6ft 2 and shittu is 6ft 3 and built like a tank and even papac is 6ft 1. J_RFC87 761
http://www.fansfc.com/frontpage/frontpagen...p?newsid=185655 The 22-year-old can play in a host of positions, making his name with Olympiacos as a wingback. Also linked with Bayern Munich and Juventus, Torosidis will be a key part of the Greece side looking to retain their European crown this summer. "We will be taking one step at a time," he said ahead of the tournament in Austria and Switzerland. "We are aware that our opponents will be more cautious. "Our first goal is to get through the group stage and make it to the quarter-finals."

If we had somebody who could consistantly deliver a good ball then we would score an extra 10-15 goals a year from set pieces IMO.

Dado'sMulls 2,625
Stathis Tavlaridas^^ Used to play for Arsenal did he no? Went to Lille I think and was apparently doing a very good job for them, think our interest just fizzled out. I'd take him and Cuellar at the back no bother! OlegKuznetsov 10,816
anyone take kyriakos back, i thought he was excellent for us Too unreliable. Rushed into challenges he didn't have to make. An unfortunate but inevitable red card liability at places like the piggery, where refs and linesmen are pressured into dubious decisions for fear of projectiles to the skull!
