You can use this hierarchy to compare the pricing between two cards, to see which one is a better deal and also to determine if an upgrade is worthwhile. I dont recommend upgrading your graphics card unless the replacement card is at least 3 tiers higher. Otherwise, the upgrade is somewhat parallel and you may not notice a worthwhile difference in performance. Unless you need the higher card for the resolution you are playing on, which is a special circumstance, I would agree with that I have the ati 4870, smashing card although I wish I had waited for the 1GB, the 280 GTX with its reduced price was quite tempting to get more recently though Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

People tend to think the higher priced graphics cards are going to be better but thats not always gonna be the outcome.
