  1. I think that was the plan and I think they thought McLaughlan would step up. He didn’t. And here we are
  2. Harsh I think. Bad break of the ball. Caught out of position chasing back and gave away a poor foul but not a massive blunder. I think he would be expecting his keeper to do better
  3. McGregor rightly getting it tight. He was shocking there. Got his positioning all wrong.
  4. Sands isn’t very good. But he has been useful during this injury crisis. Everyone fit and he is nowhere near the starting 11
  5. Aberdeen are working their fucking nuts off. They won’t be able to maintain this
  6. RTV went off and we scored two. Don’t want to get it back in case I jinx it
  7. A genuinely creative Central Midfielder and a solid Centre Half pairing have been our biggest problems so far this season. Whether MB can get a tune put of the players in the squad on that front remains to be seen I don't think a keeper is our priority just yet, yes we need one for net season but if our defence get their act together then our goalie will be less exposed, especially at cross balls and set pieces
  8. I think today demonstrates the importance of playing to your players strengths and not trying to fit them into a playing style and system that they cant execute. Colak was the one who didn’t make the adjustment today. I hope he finds a way to stay involved as I really like him. Matondo just always chooses the wrong option but as someone else said there is ability there and if he can get his decision making sorted then He could be a player.
  9. Sakala was a mile offside. There was no pass on. Should have buried the chance but keeper did well
  10. Still some terrible decision making but hopefully he will build confidence.
  11. The manager is responsible for inspiring confidence in his team. He didn’t. He was conservative and fearful. He sent a signal to our players that they weren’t good enough and it was reflected in their belief and then their performance Should the players source that belief themselves? Yes maybe but just look what happens when a manager believes it
  12. Just shows how rotten the morale was under Gio
  13. Wanted him before. Didn’t want him now. But here he is anyway needs to get a tune out of some his old team. He talks a good game but he has to transfer the talk to performances. I am glad he has some time to work on the squad because there is some fitness stuff they need to work on and he needs to assess the players he hasn’t worked with before. A few weeks of training “a mini preseason” as he says an let’s see what happens.
  14. I have never heard of Seoane until I read the last few comments of this thread. But now I hope it’s him. Because everyone on here has put me off Dyche and Beale
  15. I wanted Beale about 6 weeks ago. But I now admit that I was being a bit rash. The slump at QPR shows he is not ready for our job yet I now hope it’s someone with a bit more experience
  16. Souness stopped managing 16 years ago I can’t believe this still gets suggested
  17. The “sorry it didn’t work out” narrative is probably because GVB was many people’s choice for the job. Mine included. I wanted him appointed and felt he would be brilliant for us he has been a disaster. He has also been ridiculously unlucky with injuries but that shouldn’t detract from how bad he has been. He has not been able to get a tune out of any player, his interviews have been insipid and depressing and the regression under him has been palpable. I agree there are bigger problems at the club but we need a manager that can work with the resources he has. I don’t know who that is but surely the club have someone lined up.
  18. Fuck sake.... . 1. Gerrard trended better. We could see what he was doing, he brought back pride and passion to a lack lustre team. He got better, our players got better. Gio has reversed it all. everyone and everything has regressed under him 2. He took over when we were still drilled in Europe. Had a style, an intensity, the intensity dropped off after his arrival and dissipated fairly quickly after he had a pre-season to work with his squad 3. Gio has potentially had bad luck with injuries but how much of that is down to recruitment. We all knew the injury history of Souttar, Roofe, Helander? Didn't Wilson know? Gio is tasked with inspiring the best performance out of what is available to him. The players available to him despite injury are still better than St Johnstone players.
  19. The Players on the park today have enough technical ability to rip St Johnstone apart. That we did not is a failure of management, both tactically and from a leadership perspective. The players definitely need to have a long hard look in the mirror but its irrelevant until the most pressing problem is addressed and that is the manager. I can't get bothered about how shite Matondo and Sakala are until we fix the problem in the Managers office
