  1. I was raging at the time but in the harsh light of day it's probably the right thing to do for two reasons. Firstly, it would have been embarrassing to only beat Partick Thistle, a team who are mid-table in the Championship, as a result of a goal like that. More importantly, it would ensure that no team in the near future would give us the benefit of the doubt when it came to stuff like this. A Rangers player is down injured? They wouldn't kick it out. And if we put it out, then they wouldn't pass it back. Over the course of a season I reckon this would cost us a goal and probably cancel out what we gained yesterday. I can't say I'm glad Beale did it, but I (somewhat unhappily) agree with it.
  2. I try never to get too annoyed by it as you don’t know people’s reasons. Having said that, seeing people storm out of the stadium after we concede a goal does my head in. It was particularly annoying during the Liverpool game this season. You support the team and stand by them through thick and thin. That should include unpleasant moments.
  3. Crowd were getting antsy towards the end of the first half with the constant passing but we did the right thing. Kept them pinned in, kept playing our game and got the breakthrough. Cantwell looking good and Tillman with another important goal. Hopefully another couple of goals to kill the game.
  4. Then don’t buy it. Otherwise, what’s the issue if it brings the club in some money?
  5. I don't see the issue with the AC/DC partnership. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Otherwise, it's not affecting you.
  6. Great performance and probably our best of the season. Sakala is still rash and will still drive me crazy, but he's improved so much under Beale. It definitely gives me hope for Matondo. Kamara was excellent and, even in his cameo, Cantwell looks absolutely dynamite. Keep it going on Saturday.
  7. Really liking the movement and interchange between Cantwell, Tillman and Kent. All of them popping up across the final third and making it hard for them to be pinned down. The game should be put to bed and it’s a real let off at the end of the half. Think Jack is very lucky to still be on. Decent performance so far though. Definitely an improvement on the Gio days.
  8. I've got a season ticket and moved up to Perth four years ago you roaster.
  9. I stay just around the corner from McDiarmid Park and haven't been able to get a ticket. Are there usually any of our away support selling spare tickets outside the ground? Trying to work out if it's worth heading round to chance my arm. Cheers.
  10. I love listening to Beale speak, and hearing his passion for football. He's also probably the most honest and open that I can remember a manager being - speaking about potential signings, pointing out bad things that our players have done in the match etc. It's such a fascinating listen as he's clearly a massive football nerd and just loves talking about it. It's such a change from Gio, who I could barely listen to. That's not his fault as English was his second language (and fuck knows its better than my Dutch), but it's so refreshing to hear someone engaging talking about our club.
  11. Exactly this. You can coach someone to be quicker on the ball, but you can’t coach ability into players. In terms of natural footballing talent I genuinely think he’s our best player since De Boer. That’s not to say he’ll have as good a career as some other players who have played for us, but in terms of raw ability he’s (at the level we play at) special.
  12. Also Tillman is so far above our other midfielders it’s not even real. He’s only going to get better and anyone who says we shouldn’t sign him needs their head checked.
  13. This team is running on fumes and Beale is getting the absolute maximum out of them. Reinforcements and a refresh definitely needed. We’ve got a glass jaw as well. If we concede one you just feel we’ll ship another.
  14. Lucky he didn’t get a straight red. It’s a full-on elbow. Good chance it’ll get upgraded to violent conduct after the game.
  15. It might not have worked out in the end but it's pretty pathetic to call Gio a cunt. A great player for us, won our first Scottish Cup in over a decade and gave us the best Ibrox night of our lives. He's done absolutely nothing to warrant that abuse.
  16. Fucking hell, Roofe is cursed. You can’t even legislate for something like a dislocated shoulder and that could well be his season if it’s a bad one. Such a shame as he’s probably our best forward if he could stay injury free.
  17. Aye let's bury our head in the sand. celtic are shite because we don't like them. That's why the beat us to the league last year, will likely do it again this year, and have beaten us several times in the past 12 months. If you can't admit they're doing something right with their recruitment and that it's far better than ours then you're blind.
  18. I swear half of the people on this forum prefer it when the team is doing badly so they have something to moan about. Beale isn't my choice and I think he's underwhelming but I'll 100% back him, instead of tugging myself off thinking about asking "gotcha" questions at his first press conference. You can guarantee that a good portion of the people who are slating the appointment were all in favour of it when it looked like he was going to Wolves. Either you were wrong then or you're wrong now. Time will tell.
  19. If it is Michael Beale I'll absolutely support him and wish him all the best. He clearly has an attachment to the club and is a highly-regarded coach. Even if he proves to be a roaring success, though, this is further evidence of the lack of imagination of our board. Just like Gio last year, they've went with the lazy, easy option instead of conducting a thorough search.
  20. Please not Dyche. He's a good manager for a defensive team that's trying to punch upwards, but he's not shown any indication of being able to play football on the frontfoot or handle the expectation of winning. I don't want to want turgid Brexit football.
  21. I'd go for Hassenhuttl. It's petered out for him at Southampton but, for the vast majority of his time there, he's had next to no investment in the squad. He also did a great job at Ingolstadt and did pretty well with Leipzig. His football is exciting and he's not afraid to play and develop youth players. The fact of the matter is, we're not going to get a manager that ticks all the boxes. I think Hassenhuttl ticks enough and he'd be a definite upgrade over what we have now.
  22. Can’t believe I’m saying this but he was actually good. Not “bless him, he’s trying” good or “grading on a curve” good. Just really good. I fully expect him to go back to being shite but fair play to him today and he deserves to keep the jersey for the moment. He’s miles ahead of Matondo, anyway. Well done.
  23. Legitimately one of the worst substitute performances I can remember seeing. Looks an absolutely awful player and he doesn’t even seem to have pace, which you’d at least expect given he was supposedly the quickest player at Man City. Unsure if he was hooked for an injury or for poor performance but if it’s the latter he can have no complaints. Ross Wilson’s buying record is looking increasingly poor with each passing game.
  24. Get that bag of money, Mick. Clubs show no loyalty to managers. Take your chance to move to a higher level and secure a better contract when you have the chance. Best wishes to him, as always. Wish he was in charge of us.
