Came in like Kamara did at 1st but taken it to a new level.

Rock Solid, grounded, determined, bit of pace with skill, and seams to genuinely grow every game no matter If starting or coming on.

Credit to him, PC for the work and belief.

On Wednesday, the difference was clear as soon as he came on. Technique aside, he is an absolute unit and will never get bullied off the ball. Pace to burn, as well. Imagine a front three of him and Sima plus Danilo/AN Other with Cantwell at 10. We'd stand a chance against almost anyone with that line-up...

  2. Basic point is this: we need an LB and a striker. If some kind of deal for Shankland happens and we get an LB it looks like that'll be £7-8m (I heard £2.5m Shankland and assume £5m for a decent LB w Euro experience...).

We are on our arse/bare bones at CAM and having Hagi back wouldn't kill us, plus he can't be worse than Lammers. Has no-one seen the stuff about if Dessers gets injured Lammers is the only guy who can play 9? FFS we need more people in. Even if he's not the answer long-term, needs must...

Morelos isn't our player. Hagi is. And if Hagi isn't getting game time where he is, he might as well be back here providing an alternative to Lammers et al at a time when we have umpteen midfielders injured.

This. Exactly what I mean. Why spend £5 m we don't have on a CAM when he might do a job for us and we can get a new LB and a new striker instead?

  4. Pelters from certain quarters no doubt, but he seems to have done OK on loan in La Liga and we've seen how other players have come alive under Clement. Final argument in favour is that we need a decent 10 now that Lawrence is injured, Lammers least said the better, and Cantwell a) can't play every minute and b) has been a bit inconsistent of late. In fact, I'll go further and say he looked miffed for some reason after the Aberdeen game...

He's got 8 goals and 4 assists. Only Tavernier and Sima have more.

There is no arguing with the stats. But 95% of the time he does not control the ball well and does not look comfortable on the ball either. He doesn't seem to be able to take the ball into feet when facing away from goal, for instance. And I'm speaking as one of the least football-savvy guys on here. As others have said, it's his conversion of chances that's the telling stat and he simply does not put enough away for a main striker at a club like this.

    Isn’t he 29?

I like the whole of this post - including the bit where you analyse his chances etc. On the stats side, 3 goals and 3 assists in 12 starts doesn't look horrible. But as some have said, the way he was prancing around like he'd just hit a Pirlo-style worldy when all he did was get a foot in the way of Matondo's shot fair mak's ye think, as my late grandfather used to say. I wonder whether part of the "sell" Beale made to him and Lammers was that SPL was where they could finally shine, an "easier" league, etc etc. As so many have found out over the years, it may not have the quality of the EPL , Liga and all but it is fast and physical, and I'm not sure he can cope with that.

I think it (sadly) needs to be…

    Butland

    Tav Goldson Davies Borna

    Lundstram

    Cifuentes Lammers

    Sima Roofe Wright

Depending on how big Beale’s balls are, you might change out Lammers with Rice or Jack.

I'd say that is the team and Mick hinted as much when he said he'd had to rest Roofe with Wednesday in mind. No-one will argue yesterday was anything other than dross and embarrassing, but I actually thought Cifu played a bit, same with Lammers. Dessers - proof positive that stats do lie. Currently on 3 goals and 3 assists, but looked the worst man on the pitch yesterday.

  8. I'll stick my neck out for the pelters and say I watch some MLS as well as the famous. I am not sure Cifuentes will adapt to the hammer-throwing and the pace of Scottish football. You get a lot more time on the ball in MLS. Technically, yes he has got it. But I won't say more as almost all of you know more than me about the game, not to mention MB and his scouting team. Trust the manager.

There's a blasé attitude to losing to them in my opinion.. it's not life and death as much as its just what we do it's acceptable within the squad it's normal.

Morelos and Kent were mainstays of the 55 team and they have chucked it. Without cursing, their behaviour is unprofessional to put it mildly. You could go further and call them a pair of millionaire spoiled brats who know that at 26 they will never have to work again and so don't care. Neither should play again. I thought Hagi had flashes today and needs more game time.

I have to disagree with that, mate.

How much of the application and attitude etc is because a player like Kent, who didn't make it at LFC, comes up here and by comparison the standard is so low they "fall asleep" and stop trying to improve? I've seen it a lot over the years. There was that guy with a Russian name but was Swedish. He went on loan to them and refused a contract with the filth to go and play in Spain. A few months later he talked about how poor the Scottish league was and how he more or less refused to play Ross County on a pissing wet Wednesday. I know everyone's going to say if they don't like it they can do one but the problem is we need more talented players to compete in Europe - and getting those players to Scotland (and keeping them here) is part of the problem IMO. Not always about the money...

A few months ago I wanted Sakala in the team, no as any long term solution but I just felt that we needed some honest graft on the park, someone you know would try their best and not take the huff when anything goes against him/us, we've more than steadied the ship now domestically, I think it's time to move on from seeing him as someone who can realistically start games for us again.

Totally agree. I just watched the game for the first time and the simple truth is that he cannot shoot - or at least, his shooting is far below the required standard. Pace to burn and can beat a man on his day, but can't finish. I know Hagi is slow but as that game panned out we would have been better off with him up top and not Fashion - simply because he wouldn't have missed the basic chances.

    McGregor

    Raskin Kamara

    Cantwell Tillman Kent

    Colak

Decided against going with a weaker 11. Brought Colak in though to hopefully get him a few goals before the end of the month aswell

Great team. My only change would be Alfie up top for first 45, then Colak. Think he needs more time to get up to speed and we want this won first. Also switch out either Tav or Barisic for Devine at 60 or so, then rest as many first picks as possible later to give fringe a change

Absolutely no point of people moaning about him and saying he’s not good enough week after week when we cannot address the position until January.

Sakala is the best option we have for the right wing position right now and he should keep his spot in the team.

Completely true. But are we missing Daniel Candeias? I think we'd have him back over anything we've got at the moment...?

Their high intensity game worked last season as they only had domestic football to focus on.

It was always going to be interesting to see how they got on with the challenges Europe brings including injuries. Imo their squad players lack the quality their starting 11 has so starting 11 injuries will hurt them.

I'm definitely of the opinion injuries have and will continue to catch up on them. Hopefully to more of their key players and as for as long a period of injury as possible. Fuck them

    exactly my thoughts
