Gerrard needs to tell our players that last season is history and that games like this need 100% battle commitment not like the half arsed shite we were coming up with today. Lackadaisical, sideways movement, sloppy passing, second best so much of the time. I don’t know if there is also a complacency problem with some our players but we are going to face umpteen games like this this season so we better find a way of winning.

At 2-0 I was fearing the worst but that Davis goal could be worth a fortune to the club. The positives I am taking is we surely won’t be as disjointed in the return tie, 2-0 totally flattered them and we weren’t as terrible as some are saying. We were just a bit rusty tonight and badly missed our stronger midfielders. Ball retention has to be a lot better. No room for error in the return though , we have to be on it for the whole game.
