  1. i've never thought the guy was Rangers class, needs a run to see if he's any good granted, but I think Greg Wylde looks like he has much more potential. More pace and a better attacking option. I agree I don't think Wallace is much of a defender. Still shocked what made our backroom staff invest the biggest chunk of their transfer kitty on this guy for, we needed class players that would make a difference in games, Wallace to me just seems squad player in terms of quality.
  2. but on the subject of Ortiz, clearly not left sided, so will be interesting to see how he does on the right instead. He's just not flash. We have no flash wing backs, no flash wingers, really we dont have any naturally skilled dribblers either. Very rarely you see a Rangers player hold the ball and take guys on, thats why Weiss was a breathe of fresh air, even if his end product was a bit short. Wylde has the right idea, but how many games he'll play remains to be seen.
  3. Goian, that was a bizarre one, to quote Chick young, Even he said on the radio the night everything Rangers seem to be doing is bizarre at the moment, god even on the pitch, bizarre. Roll on Odonker, history of knee problems, he's guaranteed a 5 year contract, lol.
  4. Absolutely no way to talk about our chairman and owner in my opinion. Disagree with decisions (as I myself have done on another thread about our manager) but it is not acceptable to get personal. oh its personal alright, I'm a Rangers supporter who's had to endure the nonsense promises of this guy and watch my club crash out at the 1ST HURDLE of the CL qualifiers, with no fresh impetus of players that's badly needed cause they simply can't afford them. If this was the case, we should have been told instantly that funds were tight and that very little dealings in the transfer market would be made. Frankly, the fans have been lied to. Transfer dealings HAVE to be done before major European ties when you have a full pre-season to work with. Quite frankly, the new chairman's policy has been ridiculous, and I will have no one change my view on that.
  5. The squad this year isn't good enough, no one of starting 11 quality has came in, and Bougherra is off and possibly Jelavic after tonight, and we lost a guaranteed 30 goals a season when they balked at £400,000 for Kenny Miller. The WORST thing that could have happened did happen tonight, guaranteed CL money would have at least contributed to some sort of transfer fund. Johnston and Bain knew exactly what was going to happen, so McCoist is either a yes man or loves the club that much he's willing to become a martyr, cause if he loses the league to a Celtic team with possibly the most hated man in their history as manager, Rangers fans will never forgove him. If he doesn't get the backing, he can't be blamed. Is he willing to put his reputation on the line like this ? Obviously yes, but time will tell.
  6. That team is done, its stuck in a mindset of how to do things one way and McCoist can't change it cause he was part of it, he needs new players to do it and the guys he's got the "luxury" of bringing in aren't good enough. Rangers season is defined by playing in the CL, winning the league or 2nd place is guaranteed. When we cant beat an 8th placed Swedish outfit when a new revolution was supposed to be beginning, is that not a crisis ? The Kaunas debacle put us into historical levels of debt !!!!! This is similar, he now have zero revenue, no guaranteed pot and a pittance of european TV money. They might not even qualify for the Europa League either. If they cant beat Malmo with that squad then I'm not confident of them qualifying for that. Remember, that is the squad we have minus Bougherra and possibly Jelavic with no replacements. I'm afraid this pish is serious.
  7. I wouldn't blame Mr Mccoist if he resigned after this. He's had no help to build a required new team that he can make his own after public promises made by that smarmy looking fud called Craig Whyte. What's the point staying in this job at a club where the fans worship you as a deserved legend, only to have your legacy of being an out and out winner ridiculed because the new chairman does not have the financial muscle to support you. Is it fair McCoist gets the backlash, and has to endure that in his historical era as manager, he was a complete failure and it was his fault ? Cause if we don't spend millions soon, Celtic will walk all over us, and I'm afraid we don't have the money to spend. If I was Ally, I'd start a mutiny and walk away, and put pressure on this pitiful chairman to deliver what's needed. Everyone can say what they like about the decisions tonight, the sendings off, bottom line, a Rangers team that had the ability to sign 4-5 quality players along with the current squad should have shown zero respect for an 8th placed Swedish outift, and soundly beaten them. BUT, most of us knew with the current squad, we'd start defensively cautious, and honestly struggle. Tonight is a disaster, and McCoist really can't do much about it.
  8. the money isn't there. They've had a pre-season and more to build a new team, a new era with a new manager. There's been a mammoth amount of time for a rapport to have been built with manager and the new chairman but he's pulled the wool over everyone's eyes and the pressure that Bain, Johnstone and Paul Murray wanted put on the pursual from Whyte never came. McCoist scraping at the bucket just like McLeish had to because the chairman did not have the finances to fund what was necessary. Bain and crew, even Dave King have always known this guy does NOT have the financial muscle to run a football club like Rangers.
  9. yip, its Craig Whyte that is to blame, and Gordon Smith as well. They dont have 2 pennies to rub together, any fan who thought this man had money to splash on the transfer market should have their eyes open now. The players brought in already aren't good enough, and they can't afford to pay the money for the man Mccoist wanted to bring in from day 1 ? The boy STILL hasnt signed for Blackburn cause he's waiting for Rangers just to cough up, but obviously they wont. I'm telling you, and I said it from day one, Johnstone and Bain knew what was happening, if Paul Murray had £20m to invest in the team, the debt was managable and we'd be in a stronger position squad wise like Celtic are. Now we have a debilitant team, players are leaving with reduced quality, bargain bucket replacements. We're in a bad way. I wont be surprised if that's Jelavic offski now as well. Combo of Kaunas and the McLeish era all in one go.
  10. I think you'll see Beattie upfront alone and Kenny Miller playing wide left with Naismith wide right, which will give tremendous work rate to support the wing backs as its going to be required, with Davis, Edu and McCulloch through the centre. Whittaker, Bougherra, Weir and Papac is our strongest backline, I think Walter will keep it at that. He honestly has to realise Laugherty (excuse the pun, lol) cannot be trusted at this level, never mind SPL level. At least if he lines up like that he can use his limited bench to a certain degree integrating Fleck, Weiss etc. and tinker with the lineup as it is i.e. give Beattie an hour, bring Weiss on then switch Miller upfront and have Weiss wide and so forth.
  11. the Rangers manager must always be decked out in a black suit, brown shoes, sky blue shirt and Rangers tie. As far as I'm aware its a requirement of the job, its mandatory. The players will be decked out in the same attire on the night of the game. Travelling they'll wear sports gear, come game night they'll be dressed for the occassion.
  12. the Tennents sponsor is ghastly, it looks fine on the Celtic strip as the colours blend in better, it just looks like a horrible big transfer on our strip that looks out of place. It's such a plain top that a sponsor just looks horrid. Hope the adults version comes without the sponsor as well as the juniors as it will look really nice. a bigger badge would have looked better, like the old style crest in style for a genuine retro look, should be a big badge like the England top.
  13. My god what have I woken up to this morning? "ever" win? We are more than capable of winning te Europa League, i would tend to think thats a bit bigger? if you think Rangers can win the Europa League (when they couldn't even finish 3rd in a weak Champions League section) you're deluded chief. Jesus, we're struggling to beat St Mirren and Dundee Utd in domestic cups when teams like Fulham are whooping Juventus 4-1. Need a reality check mate
  14. was extreme sour grapes. So in football does defense not matter anymore ? Are we all about fielding 6 strikers and neglecting or respecting that the other team will attack and have chances ? The man is an imbecile and he's practically embarrassed himself and his club with his comments. I always knew this would happen. He was the reason WBA got relegated from the Premiership, the man cannot adapt or forsee what's apparent to a game of football. He makes strange substitutions, cannot change tactics and has cleared out a team of champions and replaced them with inexperienced potentials who quite frankly look below standards. They have no money left, are working to a negative turn-over, they have 3 loan players who all will leave or potentially leave (Keane, Kamara, N'Guemo) and have a manager who doesn't have any idea what to do to remedy the situation. No Champions League money this year for them either to get out of jail. Couple that with the fact the board can't afford to hire a new manager who may want a new selection of players as the current crop have proved they are no good. If the Beggars were slagging our situation, they need to realise theirs is a whole lot worse !!!!!!
  15. team selection was a bit iffy last night, lets remember, this is the Scottish Cup, the second biggest trophy we can ever possibly win (1st being the league obviously), so I don't agree with resting players key to winning a match. It was more the formation and lineup I didn't enjoy, the players coming in should still be good enough though. And lets be perfectly honest, they cost themselves an extra game of football for absolutely no reason ! The game should have been wrapped at 3-1 at Ibrox !
  16. the bank isn't to blame, you simply cannot spend money you don't have !
  17. the players are burning out. the same 11 guys are relied on every week to perform the goods and no others are capable of stepping it up to provide the manager a selection headache. i dare say a few of the main men are playing through injury due to a wafer thin squad with very little quality
  18. i'm afraid wasting money on fees and wages on guys like Lafferty, Velicka, Webster, Rothen doesn't help, especially Lafferty, a signing they are still paying installments for the entire club is in a state of disarray and everyone is at fault, the club needs a buyer now before things get significantly worse, along with a chairman that can direct the club better in the long term. David Murray may be a successful businessman but he doesn't seem a smart one. When you reduce a club's debt significantly the last thing you do is throw £30m at a manager to sign players and go back to square one, every signing should have been stringently scrutinised to make sure they were right for the club. One game has put us in the dire predicament we're in - Kaunas. We can't recoup the money that was spent on players that season, some that have been average or below average in performance and contribution.
  19. if we're out of europe before Xmas, he's off in January, which now seems likely
  20. So, who is going to replace his goals, after all that is his job. seeing as how little talent the man has, i'm sure it wont be hard to find another penalty box striker who can score all those goals against mid-level SPL opposition. luckiest footballer alive and he doesnt know it Are you 12? So, explain how come we never managed to find this player you speak of, in the years between McCoist retiring, and, Boyd signing? And, why all these far superior players we have have scored the goals we needed to win these games, since its so easy. You are, in all honesty, talking shite, pure and utter shite! We have had all these other strikers in who are so much more "talented", yet, consistnently failed to deliver, and, continue to fail to deliver. Explain that?? Explain all the dropped points against, well, anyone then? In Games where Boyd hasnt played Surely wont take long as there cant be many can there? easy question to answer, poor scouting system and no money to fund strikers of quality So.... you are now admiting that Boyd is a "striker of quality"? Why sell/drop him then? That goes against your initial "seeing as how little talent the man has, i'm sure it wont be hard to find another penalty box striker who can score all those goals against mid-level SPL opposition" where did i say Boyd was quality ? its not possible for me to say that the way the Terminator cannot self destruct ! we've got Boyd because we can't fund strikers of quality !!!!! therefore we're left with the shower of shite we have, and Boyd can't even start in a team that really he should have commanded a place in when Smith first took over ! shows you how much the "messiah" has progressed doesnt it ! developed into a great talent over the years ! hahaha

  22. Oh no, you've found another thread . (I'm only having a bit of a laugh ) lol, its all banter man, i just think Boyd is shite !
  23. would he ? i've saw him rattle the ball straight at Artur Boruc a couple of times from about 6-10 yards. I remember the sitter he missed from about 3 yards against Villareal years ago. How many goals has he scored against Celtic ? How many has he scored in Europe, infact how many times has he STARTED against these teams? lol that tells you the story ! he's pish When you are in a hole it is wise to stop digging son. well, i know plenty of folk who don't rate him, even a few professionals in the game. Paul Le Guen never seemed to rate him, Walter Smith certainly doesnt rate him, George Burley never seemed to rate him hence the reason he took the huff with the national team. 3 pro's, 3 different managers, 3 different styles, 3 different coaching teams, yet all have the same opinion I seem to have ! scoring goals against mid level opposition SHOULD be fun for a striker who plays for RANGERS. Its the goals against Celtic, against teams in Europe that prove whether the guy is good enough and Boyd isn't even good enough to start in those games unless the managers hand is forced !
