  1. Aurora hotel, across road from central station so can't miss it. Check with the true blues, but last time I went in to watch the old firm they streamed the game so quality was poor. Cracking atmosphere though, met Craig Moore in the crowd? Otherwise, sign up to Foxtel, they show all away games, old firm games and a lot of cup games ? Btw, welcome to oz ??
  2. Thanks mate, where was billy gilmour? He stepped up?
  3. For me, he's suited to back end of game. Come on with 30mins to go, opposition tired, use his brain and technique to drive home our advantage or unlock a defence if we need a goal. Not a starter for me, too slow in his tracking and movement, we need to be pressing, chasing and attacking in the first 60mins
  4. Is there any mention of assaults on individual players??? It's 3am here and can't read the feckin thing
  5. ??? I meant the team mate! Parramatta itself is a shit hole!
  6. Agree, money is the common denominator. Obviously success is integral for the players, but success, and the financial reward that comes with it is what drives the boards/owners etc and if not run well, clubs can go to the wall so easily. Sad indeed, but as with Rangers, I see light at end of tunnel
  7. Mate, huge eels fans. What's more disappointing is am from Campbelltown and always seen Hayne as a home town hero. To see him turn his back on the team for money is a kick in the guts. Thankfully, things can't get any worse, can they? ?
  8. Storms rotting was on another level. As for the same, it's exactly the same, parra and gers were torn apart by an incompetent, potentially criminal board.
  9. You may be thinking about ozblue, he's a bit more prolific on here! But your right, the day is grim on here without all the transfer speculation and timposters! fyi, it's not rugby, it's league ??, I fecking hate rugby
  10. As we all know, these past few years have been absolute hell for both the club and we, the long suffering fans. Looking back, it is still hard to comprehend all the turmoil we endured at the hands of evil businessmen, incompetent administrators and often poisonous opposition fans/bloggers and keyboard warriors. Now that we have emerged, stronger than ever, I wanted to also share the plight of my local Rugby League team, the Parramatta Eels to highlight that greed knows no bounds. Parramatta are a Sydney based rugby league club and one of, if one the biggest supported clubs in Australia. Unfortunately, success has been rare in the last decade, until the beginning of this season, when we signed some international recruits. The season started and the club were absolutely flying, and for the first time in years, fans started to believe that we could finally be champions. Then things turned to shit: - A few games into the season, media reports emerged that the governing body were investigating the club for "rorting" the salary cap - The governing body then came out and announced it was indeed investigating team for "backhanders" that weren't declared properly - The investigation took months, and everyday, the media had inside sources leaking and muckraking at every chance, dragging the club, players and fans through the mud - Investigation was finalised and club was fined $1 mill, docked all points won up until that stage (effectively ruling them out of finals) forced to shed players, and pulled licence of entire board, pending further review - Parra where then forced to offload two of their most exciting prospects, akin to Rangers having to lose McKay and Holt - Whilst the club was being dragged over coals for payment issues, all was not well in the playing group - Our biggest recruit in 10 years, think Joey Barton esqe, an international player and supposed "leader" was found to have a gambling problem - This led to said player taking 3 weeks away from game - Player came back, and got injured for rest of season - He has now reneged on his 5 year contract, citing personal issues and has now effectively left the sport (until he signs for another club next season no doubt) - Whilst this was happening, the sports best winger, a Fijian who Parramatta had scouted and nutured to become a superstar, decided that he wanted to chase $$ and leave for French rugby - The club was having none of this, and played hardball, leading to the player heading back to Fiji for two weeks. - When he returned, he committed to the club, but two weeks later, got injured for the season - Then our halfback, another young superstar, got embroiled in a drug and sex scandal. He has now been banned by governing body for remainder of season Now you think it couldn't have gotten worse. Until today. We had our own version of the Naisy et al TUPE fiasco. Our prodigal son, Jarryd Hayne, a player that was a Parramatta legend, had been allowed to leave the club two seasons ago to take up the opportunity of a lifetime to play in NRL for 49ers. Throughout the last two seasons, this guy has told media and fans, he signed a "lifetime" deal with Parramatta and if he ever came back to League, he would only ever play for Parramatta, the club he captained and brought him through since he was 16. Hayne recently quit NFL and it was destined that he would return to his beloved club and give the club and fans something to look forward to. Today, Hayne signed for a rival team. So there you have it, as you can see, there is a club on the other side of the world whose supporters are going through the same pain we all felt during these last few years. Being a supporter of both clubs, my only comfort is that like Rangers, I am sure Parramatta will come out of this bigger and stronger than ever before. Feel free to move into another forum.
  11. Stephen Craigan on commentary today said he spoke to Thompson before game and he's likely going on loan down south
  12. Surely as a mod you must reveal all and not hide behind all these "sources" every 15yo keyboard King has? ??
  13. Firstly let me start by saying I thoroughly enjoyed tonight's game. We looked fresh, hungry and importantly, had an abundance of depth. In terms of attack, we were excellent. With Miller, Waggy, forrester, McKay, MOH and windass, we have exceptional quality across the front 3 and competition will be fierce. Add in a good performance from Walsh and we have a plethora of choice. That said, we could have been more clinical and whilst it's our first hit out, we all agree that we missed a clinical finisher last season and Warbs I'm sure is going all out to fill that berth. With all this in mind, I firmly believe that Hardie needs another year on loan to develop physically, as I can't see where he fits in that front 3 given the depth. midfield is obviously hard to judge given 3 possible starters were unavailable. What we can say is that the likes of Halliday and holt are ever reliable and no matter their role for the season, they won't let us down. As for young Thompson,I echo my thoughts on Hardie, in that he needs to be playing and should go on loan because he certainly looks like a player who could be important in the coming seasons. Fullback wise, happy with the performance, and with hodson still to come in, and McRories admirable performance on the flank, I think we have enough quality to see out the season. Which leads me to defence. Boy oh boy does warbs need to get some real quality there. Whilst the us lad offered a physical and aerial presence, he looked like a bloke who hadn't played in 2 years and I'm not sure he's worth the risk. Hill got turned once or twice which is concerning and given our attacking style this doesn't fill me with confidence as he is likely to be left stranded on occasion. He did however give us an aerial presence and a no nonsense approach which will give us something different. It's clear we need a solid CB because as it stands, I don't think we have necessarily improved in defence, merely added cover of a similar standard. All in all, our first glimpse tonight was overwhelmingly positive. It's clear we are going to be a potent attacking force and with an addition in defence and at striker, I'm filled with confidence that not only can we challenge, we can actually get 55.
  14. So i have a login but have only bought individual games week to week. I can't do it this way? I need to subscribe to a package?
  15. Question, why is it not showing on gers tv as an individual purchase? Will they put it up later?
  16. Thanks mate! I think it Kicks off 9:30am tomorrow morning for us, I'll be working from home?
  17. Agreed. Are you on Twitter? A lad on there with remarkably same sentiment.
  18. Still two positions wanting- central defence and striker. for me, we need to get two quality additions, not simply "cover" as I suspect the likes of hill and hodson are seen. your with the squad, any insight into the striker? Please confirm it is not Vaughan! ?
  19. We need to be reasonable. In Barton and Niko we have added steel, flair and most of all, invaluable experience. In Rossiter, windass and crooks we have added undoubted potential, along with a desire to play at the highest level. If we add Mariappa, he gives us an EPL level defender which we can't really ask for more. the Gilks and Hill signings for are odd. Both go against our youth ethos, and I just don't buy the experience arguement when you've already signed two 30+ midfielders and have Miller, Wallace and potentially Mariappa. Both to me smack of squad signings which is fine, but does seem to buck our trend of quality over quantity. For me, the window will go from good to great if we see DK splash on one or two players. I know fees aren't the be all and end all, but I firmly believe this will allow us to open our pool of players rather than frees, and more importantly reinforce to rangers fans that DK is fully committed to taking this club back to the pinnacle
